VRS also weighs more unexpected results more heavily. If you lose to an underdog, that hurts you heavily. If you lose to the top dog, it doesn’t do much – because OF COURSE you lost.
These two factors work together: Wildcard has mostly played close matches, so in their history, they have some losses which are hurting them because they were matches they “should” have won.
By losing to Vitality, they displace an “embarassing” loss with an “of course” loss, which improves their VRS situation.
