Used Skype very much with my friends back when we studied, and some years after…even had our own group with a name…It was so much fun, and hilarious conversations! Also an easy way to find your friends online, for games and playing too.
One day though, people started talking less and less in our group, and at some point, we only used Steam, and almost never played any games again.
Skype was great at some time, but I haven’t used it in years.

I only used skype with the OG xbox one came with that camera. I remember being so impressed the camera would track you. I convinced my mother to buy one and for a couple months I would skype her from xbox to xbox to like talk to her… Thats really the only time I ever used it. Still I remember being impressed I could do this from a xbox and how good it looked.

Fuck man.. I used Skype to talk to my father while he was deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq.. I still remember the little ringtone when he’d call and I’d full on sprint over to the PC and setup the Logitech webcam 😭

I remember along 2011-12 when my dad was working overseas, we used Skype to see and talk to each other over our computers. It felt fucking insane and revolutionary seeing another person on your screen and talking to them live like they were right Infront of you

The OG Skype is already dead and mourned. It went to shit once Microsoft acquired them in 2011.
After the acquisition, everyone I know stopped using it.
No more Nudge, no more custum emojis, no more scripts.
Also, if I recall correcty, they forced you to make a @hotmail account. Might be wrong on that one, was a long time ago.
