Suffering from success. Good for them

    > It’s this demand that meant the game sold out physically in multiple regions around the world, leading the Sandfall Interactive team to issue an apology.

    > “We are aware that we have sold out of physical editions at various retailers,” it said on Twitter. “Our distribution partners are looking into re-stocking! Sorry, the demand has been higher than expected in many regions. Please stay in touch with your local stores for more info.”

    > It’s another well-deserved, if slightly frustrating, honor for the team. Let’s just hope the potential Esquie plushes don’t sell out if Sandfall manages to release them in the future.

Does this ever happen these days?

  4. TsarMikkjal

I had 2 stores run out of copies literally as I was placing an order. Secured it eventually, but I had to pay 10% more for it.

  5. RadioactiveTwix

I would love to have a physical copy. I already bought it, but it’s one of those games I don’t mind buying twice. (glances at the multiple copies of Persona 5 nearby)

  6. DunnoMouse

Good thing I wasn’t planning on waiting for a sale for this game

  7. Comfortable-Toe-5336

Extremely deserved and a big step forward for the turn-based genre in general

I don’t typically buy games at full price but this time I’ll make an exception to reward and support the team. Screw the Ubisofts and EA with their overpriced bloated rubbish!

Yeah I wa surprised I could not order it on Series X, only yesterday it said they re-ordered and I should get it in 4-11 days now. Feels unusual these days when one is used to same day delivery and such things.
Not mad though, happy to wait and then finally dive into it! It made me rush Elden Ring to the end💪

This game is so great cant wait to play it after work!

A problem a solid small studio deserves. Congrats to them.

I’m excited to go home and try this. Been traveling for 2 weeks for business, thinking primarily about this and oblivion

  12. Taikiteazy

Demand higher than supply. Game studios’ dream come true. Excellent and well deserved.

  13. downtownfreddybrown

I really hope the restock soon, would love it in my collection

  14. Pipe_Memes

Sounds like a good problem to have. I really need to try this game.

  15. KrayzieBone187

I can’t imagine how good members of that team feel. It’s quite remarkable.

  16. Airsinner

Does this mean this company is at high risk of being bought by a larger company now?

    Physical copies for the win!

A healthy physical media market helps keep digital pricing in check.

Meanwhile assassin’s creed: oh yeah, 1 million players, let’s go.

  19. in-grey

It’s absolutely masterpiece and deserves every ounce of the success and recognition it’s receiving. I hope it goes on to sell 33 million copies. I’m very thankful and appreciative that my bestie was wise enough to pre-order a physical copy before release.

  20. GaleErick

    I’m actually waiting for it.

I’ll admit I’m only interested in the game once I hear the great reviews from players and critics, and by that time it seems the physical stock has run out in my local stores. Kinda surprising, but I guess they didn’t print much physical copies.

I can wait for the restock, still got the Oblivion remaster to play through.

Would love a copy for Xbox but for some reason there’s only physical PS5 editions available in Australia. I’ve noticed it happening a lot with games skipping Xbox physical editions.

    C’est l’balayage d’Clair Obscur.

  23. Obsessivegamer32

It’s easy to forget that this is an indie game.

  24. Remy0507

I had to go on quite the scavenger hunt the day it released to find a physical copy, so I’m not surprised to hear this!

  25. Muted-Plankton

At least in Finland,  not a single store had any on the shelf at release. Of course you could order it but good luck getting it to arrive on day of release. Sadly, stores just didn’t stock the game outside of online purchase.

  26. The game is absolutely phenomenal, I’m that their only real problem is it’s so popular they can’t easily meet demand.

  27. onlylonleybeuy

That’s a good problem to have.

  28. Etheon44

I bought the lumiere edition and it is very cool, both the steelbook and the artbook

  29. hdcase1

You love to see it (both as a fan of physical games in general and this game in particular.)

  30. Mando316

I purchased the regular edition but I would have bought the steelbook GameStop edition if it wasn’t sold out. Oh well I did my part in supporting them.

  31. Donequis

I am *devastated* at all these really cool games being “Git good” games. 🙁

I’m happy for y’all, but I feel like a kid in a wheelchair watching everyone run up a flight of stairs to free ice cream 😭

  32. LookinAtTheFjord

I’ve never seen a game come out of nowhere like this and just blow everyone out of the water. I’m def feeling some fomo. I don’t even like turn-based combat but obviously this is slightly different and has enough else going on during turns to keep me interested.

  33. BlackAnalFluid

I grabbed this game on a whim with little knowledge about it, save the studio being ex devs from ubisoft, and this being their first game.

Have never been a huge fan of JRPGs, but oh my good god, this game is eaaily GOTY for me and a contender for all-time favorite.

The visuals, the soundtrack, the story, the voice acting, the fun mix of QTE, and turn based combat has me absolutely hooked.

Only a couple of games have made me tear up, but this game has done it multiple times. I just can’t get enough.

Even if JRPGs aren’t something you normally play, this is an absolute must play for most people imo. Masterpiece of a game and the devs should be incredibly proud of their hard work.

  34. CheshireDude

And I was worried this game wasn’t gonna do well, extremely happy to have been wrong on that lol

  35. crusadertsar

And in the meantime, I went into my local game store and they had a bin full of copies of Dragon Age Veilguard on flash sale for $30. Didn’t that come out 6 months ago? No thank you.

  36. genasugelan

Hey look, gamers actually WANT to buy and play games that are FUN and GOOD. Who would have thought?

  37. gionnelles

If somehow you haven’t bought this game yet. Do it. This is a generational RPG people will be talking about for decades.

  38. redvelvetcake42

I’m stoked I got a physical copy. This game is something I didn’t realize I needed. It gives me such a strong feeling of so many genres I adore. I’ve been needing modern Lost Odyssey.

  39. Hypercane_

This game is so cool, I’ve almost beaten it but I know I’m playing another playthrough on New Game +. The story is leaving a little to be desired, characters don’t ask questions they should be asking is the main problem, but everything else about this game is fantastic and so professionally done. The performances, the combat, the exploration, THE MUSIC, the atmosphere, and most importantly the price tag. It’s on game pass, and on steam it launched with a 10% off promo, and the base price is $50. $45 and this game is providing more content that is also great than most $70 games of the same caliber. Absolutely worth a buy

  40. 3v1lkr0w

At least they allowed pre-orders in the US, unlike Gungho.
Still can’t get a physical PS4 version of Lunar Remastered Collection without paying double the price thanks to it only being available on Amazon and selling out in less than 5 hours.
