Whats the chances of this working after an iso bath and letting it dry for a few days? Have a spare psu to throw in the rig as well.

Worst case scenario you lose 130$ if you can’t afford to lose that then don’t but if you can then fuck it why not

  2. Assaltwaffle

I mean even if the CPU alone is the only thing that works, it would still be a good deal. I definitely go for it.

If he already tried to boot it, then any components that had residue from the rainwater in them are probably destroyed. Really not sure how many of those parts will be functional again.

  4. NamesNotNeededToWork

Talk them down a bit if you can since you are buying a broken product. Also see it power up before anything, see what it does do. Could have several parts that are fine, even if they fried something turning a wet pc on.

Depends on your financial situation, but I’d do it for $130 bucks. There’s bound to at least be some parts that are still good even if you can’t get it working. All you need is for the gpu to be good to make money

Yolo, worth it even if only one thing works, could be a simple fix

I wouldn’t touch it. When did it get wet? How long was it wet? What did the owner do to try and dry it out. That’s all going to play a factor in the corrosion factor. It might be fine it might not. It might run for ten minutes or 10 years.

Personally I don’t like to gamble unless I’m sure it’s a sure thing.

Ram is going to be fine, cooler is going to be fine, SSDs are probably going to be fine even if I’d only keep the big one personally, case is going to be fine. Even if the CPU is shot it seems like the worst case still does better than breaking even to me.

  9. TyTyTygerguy

I would go for it because the odds of literally everything being broken is so low and i mean worst case you lose a little bit of money and get a pc case which is quite unlikely.

yes lol one part and you mostly made ur money

  11. Satcastic-Lemon

if you got 130 to spare them hell yeha

  12. darkartjom

Looks like a good gamble, I’d do it

  13. Babylon4All

For $130 I would go for it. It could literally be a single ram module or something.

  14. I personally would, but that’s because for me $130 isn’t a risk, it’s a ticket for a fun activity.

If for you it’s an actual risk I wouldn’t.

  15. tailslol

For that price I’m sure you’ll be able to sell something to refund yourself.

  16. Particular_Spare_116

I have the b650-p and the fact that the orange light shows means the ram is broken. best case scenario if even just the GPU works you get your money back!

  17. SKYLEX2000

Buy it and check the problem one by one on ur personal pc.
Even if one component works u get ur money’s worth.

Honestly for the odds of just the CPU or Ram still working look at it this way. Will 130 break you right now if it’s all junk? Can you afford to lose 130 if nothing can be saved? It your safe money wise I’d probably roll the dice and and pull the CPU, GPU Ram and test them. I’d be more worried about the PSU and Motherboard having shorted out.

  19. Master-Culture-6232

Waste of money. Most of the components most likely fried, some might be ok though. But hey, if you like to gamble and not mind losing, go for it.

Id ask if he can do a hundred then Ill take it. Never know what you can salvage.

  21. thelord1991

Fool tried to boot, if he would have cleaned it prop with iso his pc would still work

  22. Yoga_Douchebag

Would be a nice project. Probably just the motherboard or PSU.

  23. YellowFogLights

I’d take that chance. You could probably get enough hard parts out of it to make up a lot of ground.

  24. JanuszBiznesu96

The CPU, ram, the ssds and obviously the cooler are most likely fine. Wouldn’t trust anything else, the mobo is almost surely toast, GPU might have died too, and the PSU is a danger.

  25. LimLovesDonuts

    For $130? Pretty worth.

At most, you lose $130 but you can potentially get way more.
