I like this crew A LOT and with Janus towers approaching I fear for my goat’s survival.

I don’t know if it will happen at the end of Janus towers, or at the end of BO7, or maybe some other game down the line, but if the MWZ intro cutscene ever happens and we watch our crew DIE I will be deeply SADDENED.

I really like that we know what supposedly happens to them at the end of their journey, but we have no idea how they got to that point. I hope they change their fate somehow, but if that doesn’t happens I just hope their death was for a noble cause

I honestly do enjoy the crew, but it always feels like Treyarch never go the step above in making us care for them the way we care for Primis. Could be due to the VA strikes 100% so I won’t hold them too hard on it. Stuff like the Maya side quest in CDM felt like the perfect idea where each new map could give a focused character their own journey from moving past the mental torment they have gone through in Terminus and heal to where we the player see them all as full fledged characters and hope MWZ’s timeline is reverted.

That could’ve been in the cards ofc, just the VA strikes and the team constantly adding new handlers per map has dampered a good lot of the development and spotlight for the main 4 leaving them to feel rather meh unless the player puts an extra step of attention.

It’s like watching a play or reading Oedipus

I never really expected the Zombies storyline to take a dramatic Irony approach

Maya is the funniest character in a while and i REALLY want the best for her, its a shame we don’t have enough intel of her and lack of her presence in the recent map

I doubt they’ll change their fate, and I don’t mind it. I love the mysteries MWZ leaves, and it makes me want to see the lead up to it. My current bet is that they’ll get some kind of premonition of things to come, which leads them to following the steps that lead to MWZ i.e. take Ravenov’s DNA to conceive Ava, use that energy syphoning device in Urzikstan and possibly having someone (Maya perhaps) give a tip about the location to Terminus Outcomes, which ultimately leads to the outbreak.

Honestly, same. But then again I’ve been attached to these characters since Cold War (BO1 for Weaver), which had so much Intel that you really got a feel for them. I feel like sometimes BO6 could have benefited from a more robust collection of Intel because while it is fun to hear the crew dialogue lines in the maps, that only conveys so much. There have been some interesting moments, like finding out about Maya’s red/green colorblindness and Weaver talking about his childhood in Russia but those are just a fraction of what Cold War gave us in terms of characterization; and I think how players respond to the Maxis Crew suffers as a result. I can only assume the ongoing issue with SAG-AFTRA and AI protections in the voice actor contracts is playing a role but we haven’t really been given that much content to connect with in terms of these characters. I wonder if they would be better received if we had more material to work with.

Meanwhile I’m sitting here hoping MWZ will turn into a diverging timelines kind of thing so Weaver and company can stay alive somewhere, somehow, ha ha. 😅

I really just don’t see how you could love the crew. There’s basically more dialogue on a single bo2-bo4 map then on all 4 maps combined. I find it ridiculous that there is any reused dialogue on any map. Not to mention characters are randomly silent for no reason in cutscenes. Why was grey and Maya silent in shattered veil? Carver spoke 1 line mid terminus and then like 2 in shattered. I want to like the crew, but treyarch is killing them. They barely even have character development in Intel. Meanwhile you could immediately see the charactr development for the chaos crew in 3 maps and primis development in bo3 is also easily noticable.
