It looks like we will be paying more for new games very soon.

Me who said the same damn thing when it was $70 becoming the new norm…

I would recommend a method, however rule 3 exists

I believe this will hurt the video game industry and publishers’ bottom lines more than it benefits them.

As a middle class American, every $10 video games jump in price I become pickier, and more willing to wait for sales, than I was before.

Edit: To everyone telling me Nintendo still wins because they *don’t do sales*, I guess that means I’m just not buying their games anymore. Big dub for them.

If you’re daring enough on the internet, any country you live in could be one with a lot of inflation.

    Brazil in a nutshell.

    A gente sofre mano, foda.

bro, I am being downvoted in PS community for blaming the purchase decision of forza horizon 5 for 80 usd while being a 4-year-old game. Like man, we should stop the companies from increasing prices instead of supporting them
    Edit: I meant deluxe edition.

I’m already not buying anything at 70. I’m not buying at 80 either. The console was the right price for me but I’ll be waiting to buy games until they go on sale, or I’ll get them used.

I’m just waiting for Trump to hit digital goods with Tariffs for us Americans…

    I wish that was a /s lmfao

Inflation goes like crazy. Games have been $60 for a hell of a long time, and people think that game cost going up isn’t expected?

We have been lucky they were $60 for so long. Hell, we are lucky that they are only $80.

I get you want it for cheap, but come on. You know a burger only cost 5 cents back in the day? Prices have to come up eventually.

We really need to make regional pricing for games more common around the world. There is no reason someone in Brazil should have to pirate a game or simply never play it. Selling a digital game to someone for $5 is better than them not buying the game at all.

  11. Y’all are delusional. The price increases were always coming from every single developer.

  12. NikoliVolkoff

This is what wishlists are for. Wait until they go on sale.

  13. Key_Amazed

How are Nintendo fans the only ones to blame? The circlejerk is real here lol

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a pirate’s life for me…

Bro if americans are struggling to pay this much think about us third world folks 😅. We get an acoustic guitar for 80$ for the same price where i live. If we’re looking at 100 $ games in the future, it might be time for me to quit gaming boys. 🫡

  16. RetroSquadDX3

If you take as long to buy new games as you do getting around to posting memes they’ll be heavily discounted by the time you’re ready to buy them anyway.

  17. Adventurous-Toe-2156

Stop deflecting this on to the fans. Literally no one wants things to get more expensive ever. People don’t make these pricing decisions, but if they have the means to afford the stuff they love, regardless of price, then they have every right to do so, just like you have the right to not buy it. They don’t owe you withholding enjoyment from themselves because you personally aren’t willing to pay a price. Get mad at the world as a whole where everything is getting more expensive. This stuff will never stay the same price forever, and people who expect otherwise are setting themselves up to be eternally pissed off.

    > It looks like some of us will be buying fewer games very soon.

    Fixed that title for ya.

  19. Steeltoelion

I’m not even buying S^2 can’t justify it

  20. thegamerhpxp

It is morally correct to pirate Nintendo games.

  21. Digestednewt

Whos we us pirates are safe in the high seas from obsurd prices

  22. ffdcffhssddfdd

unfortunate as it is most people just don’t care whenever its 70 or 80 bucks.

at the end of the day if someone really wants to play a new nintendo game then paying 10 more is probably not that big of a deal
