without the dystopia, certainly. I have always loved this style ever since I saw bladerunner as a kid.

Given that there’s public transport in this scene, absolutely I would live there. How fast do their bullet trains go, I wonder? Choo choo!

I would most definitely be a nomad

Cyberpunk was a warning
ShrimpCrackers
thankfully there’s a game that looks like this that I find relaxing.
Play Cloudpunk 1 and 2 in that order.

The aesthetic, yes. The actual dystopian fucked up future, no.

It depends, what is my quality of life like?
Sensitive_Dark_29
I don’t really like being in the cities we have now, I feel like I would absolutely hate a cyberpunk type city. It’s cool in a video game but not real life
Pancake_Gundam
This the timeline where Pepsi kept the Soviet fighter jets it got in exchange for shipments of soda.

It’s the same picture.

The whole idea is that it’s not a choice, most victims of Night City are born there
OrphanOfTheSewer
Hell no. Cyberpunk is a warning for our future.
The aesthetic is “cool,” and intoxicating, but that’s really to make the bleak oppression a bit more appealing in the context of fiction.
The reality is that this is a huge hamster cage. You’re dependent on others for everything. If the machines stopped, you won’t have your next meal, you won’t get where you need to go. The corporate technofeudalist lords in the cyberpunk genre can make all those things to away to enforce your serfdom—they can turn off your medical implants as needed. There’s no future there.

Fuuuuuuck no, as someone who loves the mountains and outdoors. This would be a personal hell.

If you take a moment to disregard the cool tech and pretty neon lights. it’s well established that the state of living in night city and the rest of the world is pretty terrible for anyone who isn’t in the upper echelons of society. Why would you want to live like that?
Hobbitea
The aesthetic? Fuck yes.
Everything else? Fuck no.

Present day easy. Cyberpunk worlds are hellish
ElliasCrow
Cyberpunk setting is considered dystopia for a reason
horaciocokless
You kidding? the only thing that bothers me about being born in the 90s is that i will be very very old by the time society becomes cyberpunk-ish
I wont be able to hook up with robo-hoes and get flatlined over 2 liters of fresh water and a pound of sinthetic meat

You are NOT supposed to want to live in a cyberpunk world. If you do, it means you completely misunderstand what it means and only care about “haha funny lights”
Cool-Principle1643
Hands down take that over this garbage we are in now. At least that world looks cool.

Without the “Everything is owned by Corpo.. even your balls” part yes
OverexposedPotato
One has a corrupt government, corporations ruling the world, workforce abuse, extreme violence and inequality. The other has it too but with flying cars and neon, yay!

This looks horrendous to live in

Seeing anything “futuristic” will alwayd be enticing but the novelty of it will run down quick due to how a society like it works to begin with.
Personally, i already dont like how America society for example handles capitalism, gun laws etc for example so Night City and the like are that but times 20 to me so its an even bigger No for me lmao
