We are living in an era where GPU prices only go up, like the housing market 🤣

im still waiting for the 3000 series to drop in price
ExoticSterby42
Just get a Radeon instead.

No one said that to be honest. NVIDIA just lets stock dry up and halts production of older generations. They did so with 30 series, but you could also see that after the Super refresh when the 4080 and 4070 Ti simply just vanished instead of being heavily discounted (though you could occasionally find good deals locally). There also have been news of 40 series production being stopped around November last year, which created a “shortage” as intended and at that point it was blatantly obvious that there won’t be any significant discounts on 40 series. Anyone recommending to wait for discounts must have been living under a rock.

Bought my 4080s and grabbed a 7800x3d(for $100 more than I should have paid for it) in November knowing some stupid shit like this would happen. Dodged the bullet on the tariffs, the 50 series GPUs and the massive price spikes. I really lucked out.

Like 3 months ago I looked up a 4070ti super and it was like 800. now it is between 1100 and 2000 or something? What?
Eternal_sorcerer
Waiting for nvidia cpu release
EmperorThor
there is no longer any price drops.
You might find things on the 2nd hand market that are cheaper but the value also decreases and the risk goes up.
We are in a time of infinite inflation for all things.

People keep voting with their wallets for the price to increase and nvidia is doing it
KebabRacer69
This is exactly why I didn’t wait. Knew they would go up and not down.

My first step to happiness was switching to AMD.
BrotherMichigan
Stop giving NVIDIA your money for their progressively-shittier-every-generation GPUs and watch prices fall.

Supply and demand. Pc gaming is now mainstream. My 4090 is worth more than when I bought it.
Poorpartofeuropean
Man i gave that advice to some dude on reddit asking in december should he buy 40 series even tho prices went up, cuz he was afraid that 50 series might bomb… i still feel bad, sorry dude if ur reading this
Desperate-Steak-6425
In Poland only the 5090 isn’t available for MSRP. They have already dropped in price.
Jevano
4000 series couldn’t get cheaper because Nvidia discontinued them months before launching 5000.
5000 is getting cheaper though, and it will likely keep dropping slowly.
Xiten
Yea I finally caved after skipping the 4 series, grabbed an Asus prime 5070ti for $900 and don’t regret it.
Gammelpreiss
the good thing is, prices should drop for the rest of the world.
so thank you dear americans for taking it for the team.
Complete-Bet-5266
Weird. I see stock of 5080, 5070ti and 9070xt at MSRP very often now.
It certainly got a bit better
EastLimp1693
Literally been there with 3000 series. Was running 1080 strix, thought that couple month after 3080 release it’s gonna settle in price.
ComedyStudios_
Should be the case in 2/3 months. The 50 series is heading towards msrp and pc build shops are dropping the prices by hundreds
chwastox
I have bought my 4090 just one day before official release of 5090. I knew it will be a shitstorm and it was. The price dropped nice at this day and Im happy with my 4 series card.
TimeZucchini8562
I said from the beginning, don’t wait. 3000 series took a year to drop in prices after 4000 series released. Now we’re in an even bigger gpu shortage with tariffs. Whoever said wait had zero clue what they were talking about.
