Find better quality images for your wallpaper.

  2. Accomplished_Tip3597

because that wallpaper is most likely not in that resolution and got resized to fit the entire monitor. get a better wallpaper

  3. chef_big_dog63

Are you saving directly to your computer? And are you saving it in the right file type?

  4. No_Serve_1112

Check if the image has the same resolution as your display

  5. Suspicious-Level8818

I think it looks kinda cool tbh

  6. Deadpan_GG

find a 1920×1080(or higher) resolution wallpaper

  7. InstanceOk6544

Image size is definetely not same as your monitor, or your monitor is simply higher resolution. Make tripple sure ur correct.

  8. tailslol

    Do a right click property

    On your wallpaper file…

    And check the resolution.

  9. MauriceOfTheSun

What file type is the image?

    What resolution is the image?

If you open the image file and make it full screen, is it still “pixely”?

  10. OnlyEnderMax

By default Windows compresses wallpapers that aren’t PNG, make sure you use the correct format, and it also helps to find them in high quality, at least go for wallpapers above the resolution of your screen.

If you really like that image, you can. Use Google Lens to find the highest quality version on some other website and after downloading it re-encode it to PNG (the default Photos Apps on Windows can do that) to have the best quality on Windows.

right click on the pic file and check resolution in properties if its lower than 720P it’ll look very blurry once it gets streched to 1080P. happens to me aswell when i download the preview pic from google instead of clicking in the pic link first :p

  12. SukottoHyu

The image itself is not 1080p and has been stretched onto your screen. If you really like the image you can use free AI tools to upscale the image. I dont that with a lot of my backgrounds when moving onto a 4k monitor.

    1. Windows Key + R -> type “regedit” -> press Enter.
    2. Allow Registry Editor to run as Admin.
    3. Navigate to “Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop”.
    4. Right click “Desktop” folder -> “New” -> “DWORD (32-Bit) Value”.
    5. Name new Value name: “JPEGImportQuality”.
    6. Set Value Data to 100 (Decimal).
    7. Click OK.
    8. Close the Registry Editor. Restart your computer and reapply your wallpaper.

Or open CMD prompt as Administrator and paste:

    REG ADD “HKCUControl PanelDesktop” /v JPEGImportQuality /t REG_DWORD /d 100

Tell me you’re Gen Z without telling me you’re Gen Z.

  15. OVOxTokyo

    Real answer: Windows JPEG bullshit

    Easiest solution: use PNG

  16. Lynx_StxrTouchVT

I always search 4k images even if the screen isn’t at 4k res

This post is a great example of how mainstream PC Gaming has become, and how many console refugees we’ve inherited.

  18. Major_Trip_Hazzard

Anyone know where I can find a decent version of this wallpaper?

  19. ethancknight

The resolution of the image is too low

I know you’re saying it’s not, but if you’re right clicking images from online and hitting “save image as” you are probably getting the low quality Google preview image of it rather than the full quality image.

  20. giganizer

the question is probably why is the image you set as your wallpaper so pixelated and blurry

  21. Kidcannagrow

Try downloading the wall paper engine from steam, 5 bucks and it has so many great options!

  22. Jack_VZ

This gives me an upscaled ai image vibe, they look similarly blurry. I would say get Wallpapers Engine for 4 euros, it has good filters and a bunch of wallpapers to choose from.

  23. NaughtyPwny

Is this a sincere post or a troll to try to drive engagement?  Tough to tell…

  24. GroundbreakingBag164

Because you’re downloading some random AI generated wallpaper with a resolution that’s probably also just random

Search for actual 1080p wallpapers and stay away from AI slop

  25. Verify that:
Your actual downloaded image is 1080p by right clicking it and checking the “Details” tab and the Dimensions read 1920 x1080

Your display is actually set to 1080p in Windows Display settings

Wherever you’re downloading the wallpaper(s) from that you get the full resolution of the image and not just what you may have googled and saved without visiting the actual site. Some sites may have one or more hurdles to jump to get a link for the selected resolution/image quality you want.

  26. UNIVERSAL_VLAD

Try upscaling it with ai if you want that one

  27. UtahImTaller

What a roller coaster. Jesus christ.

  28. Immediate_Bug_6368

this is the last question I want to see on this subreddit!

  29. AlekisGRs

op straight up getting dissed with all these downvotes

  30. Future-Fan-2521

Windows compresses the shit out of your wallpaper, I remember there was a way to get full quality backgrounds by modifying a file called “TranscodedWallpaper”

  31. raz1983

Hope your problem got sorted in future I wouldn’t bother asking in here.

  32. 19ninteynice

Where did you find this wallpaper? Asking for a friend

  33. It’s made to be like that? Remember that downscaling and upscaling comes with some cost

  34. Noob4Head

Image source is definitely a lower resolution than 1920×1080.

  35. Habit117

Judging by your comments, I am actually upset that people helped and may still help you. Dumbass in denial

  36. MidwesternAppliance

    It’s the resolution of that image that’s the problem;
Not the monitor. Sorry the other commenters are so mean

  37. Responsible_Call1781

Yea, it looks quite blurry and pixely. Try enhancing the resolution or find the original image. Or just find a new wallpaper

  38. Scratch_That_

Your monitor can display up to a 1080p resolution, but that doesn’t mean every image you see on it will be 1080p.

Some images are a smaller or larger resolution, you need to find 1080p wallpapers for your 1080p monitor for it to match and look nice 🙂
