26 times the detail.
I_Stay_Home
4k textures and such, no surprise.
TokathSorbet
Well, yes. Textures are a huge part of huge games. Devs are no longer constrained to a single DVD.
coffeejn
That a lot more 1 and 0.

Unreal Engine 5 = stutter fest especially on PC. Let’s hope it’s well optimised.
Archon-Toten
How much of it is wasted on uncompressed audio..
ILikeAnimeButts
Wait, they ditched gamebryo for UE5?
What a weird monkey’s paw world we live in.

Good, the bigger the better if it means higher quality textures.

Unreal Engine is garbage for big games. Any developer using it for any remotely big or open game loses my respect.
VexyHexyTTV
No way this game just randomly drops today without any word. If it does, that would be an incredible surprise. But I’m not holding out hope. Just in case I guess.

Don’t care, still downloading.

It. Just. Works.
ZurdoFTW
80% high res textures. 19% uncompressed audio files, 1% game
WheresMyDinner
All games used to be 8gb or less in 360 days. Majority of games are 80gb+ nowadays. Sometimes 121gb. Developing news.
Blenderhead36
If they overhauled the graphics but didn’t fix the broken leveling system I’m gonna be so mad.
The TL;DR: is that Oblivion’s leveling system makes it so that if you don’t build your character and play the game a very specific, minmaxy way, enemy level ups are more efficient that yours. Since all enemies are locked to your level, that means that leveling up makes you *less* powerful, as you get +2 and +3 stat bonuses while enemies get +5. By level 50 or so, every enemy is a ridiculous damage sponge and the combat that was never the game’s strong point becomes an active hindrance.
I’ve put roughly 200 hours into this game but never finished the main quest, because by the time I have all the quality of life stuff, this has set in.
esch1lus
Then 16×16 normal maps and 512 texture

Is anyone surprised? Oblivion is not a small game and this is not a remaster. I dont get why people keep calling it that, it’s a full remake in ue5.
emanstefan
Good, 26 times the size, 26 times the bugs.
Electric-Mountain
It’s sad we know everything there is to know about this game before it’s officially announced.
Link941
How is this news to anyone? Genuinely asking, what were any of you expecting?
Kuldiin
20GB game, 100GB of Denovo, Bethesda launcher + to ensure always online required to prevent (hah) piracy and pre-loaded creation club store assets.
ATLBraves1987
I will believe in the remaster/remake/release when I see it available in the online store. Not until then. I have been let down for over a decade for a true elder scrolls game to be released. I want it to be true but my skepticism remains.

It will take up to 120 GB. Saved you a click.
