I know this is a meme but honestly this is the future of gaming. Transistors have reached a point where it’s almost literally genuinely impossible to make them any smaller, they’re just a handful of atoms large
The absolute theoretical limit of native processor performance as our engineering is, has pretty much been reached

All I know is these games are maxxed out and look amazing on my 4k. I’m using a new rtx 5070. People on this sub act like it’s a bad thing🤦🏼
“We hit our limit with rasterization, its just scaling now.
Raytracing still have few break through to go.
But upscaling is still relatively new frontier with lots of room to grow.”

They should focus more on real frames and then augment it with ai, not the other way around.

I have a 3080ti and I know it’s going to be good for a couple more years based on how often I see people post about the 1080ti lasting.
Although I love my card. I feel like by the time I go for an upgrade AMD will be slamming the market.
Nvidia seems to be unintentionally self-destructive

Absolutely agree that devs need to do more. But I don’t understand why amds fsr technology gets hyped up wheras anyone who uses or say that dlss is good gets clowned on and bullied in this sub and others

I always tell myself, “Just imagine what gaming would be like if Nvidia put the same effort to the rasterization instead of AI. You’d be playing Cyberpunk native 4K at 300 fps on the 5090. Now THAT is what we want.”

i know its a meme but i hate when people call out artifacts, “input delay” blablabla when you need to play with x1000 zoom and slowmotion to notice artifacts in dlss4 and for input delay people lose their minds over it, after a while you dont even notice the input delay lol (at least on SP games)

I have CP2077 on FGx2 hitting 120+fps at 4k with path tracing and it all looks great. Whatever input lag is there I don’t notice. The input lag I think is grossly overstated by the more hardcore gamers. I’ve experienced it slightly but not at any point in any game to make me turn it off, granted even just 60fps is plenty.

As someone who has used dlss 4 and mfg on my 5070 ti, I fucking love it. I haven’t yet noticed any latency issues. Maybe I’m just not sensitive to it. I don’t know.

DLSS/FSR4 is awesome. But frame interpolations are not.
We need real frame extrapolation. That will not have input latency issues. Currently frame gen is awful.

The Debra Wilson line is reminding me I am looking into the dark depths of humanity here.

Personally, I find all this tech quite fascinating. I agree that it isn’t quite there yet, but it is the future of gaming. Gaming has always adopted new tech and methods to make things look better or run better. Frame Generation and upscaling are just the new kids on the block right now.
I have been playing around with the new DLSS and it looks incredible. Since DLSS replaces the games default AA it even makes a ton of games look way better than native resolution these days. I great example is RDR2. The game looks so blurry in the distance and it has always been one of my biggest gripes about the game. Recently I used the Nvidia app to force DLSS 4.0 in RDR2 and holy shit does the game look way better now. It isn’t a blurry mess in the distance anymore. I’m using an RTX 3060 at 1080p and DLSS quality looks incredible. Way better than native resolution in some games.
Frame Generation is new, but I 100% bet that in 5 years’ time, it will feel way better to use. Eventually, for most people, I will just be a “free fps” button (it already is for a lot of people that claim they can’t feel the imput delay).
It’s stupid to think that gaming will always work the same as it has up to this point. Yes, these new-ish tech is a but rough around the edges, but one day, in the not to distant future this tech will run so well that you will be hard pressed to know if it’s even being used or not.

My 4070 is now 4k capable with DLSS 🙏
