You accidentally canceled the spawn by killing the zombie too quickly while it was doing its spawn animation. Usually, this only happens on Shang and is a hot-button issue in the high rounding community for Bo1. However, it can also happen on CotD and Moon, too.

To slightly correct people, it’s much more likely you killed the master spawner, which is effectively an invisible zombie. It spawns right next to the window right around where you shoot the roof spawn and if you kill it the spawn stops.
