Definitely try Grim Dawn. Only game since torchlight 2 that captured the feel.

I remember buying the battle chest bundle for $20 on a crazy sale when I was a kid. Such a great deal and ended up playing it my entire summer off from school.

This is one of three games my dad has played over the past 20+ years. Outside of the garbage inventory management, still one of my top five games to play through. The Switch version is especially really good to play.

Diablo 2 Character editor and making your own class and your own wacky abilities, and then playing together with others via things like Hamachi will always be a lot of fun
We grew up with this game, all we had to do was go to school, come back home, and play it without a single worry.

That’s definitely the best Diablo ever. I spent so many hours doing Mephisto runs for loot it was ridiculous
Only game I’ve bought twice (physical copy).
As I played diablo 2 non-stop for weeks, it finally sucked the excitement out of me and I sold it to the neighbor. A day later I found what a mistake I had made and went to the store to buy again and returned to the game.
I know someone who used this game to quit smoking cigaretts. It was that good.

I realize for the sequels there’s pressure to innovate. But in hindsight everything they did differently than Diablo 2 was a mistake.
They should have kept this formula and just added content. Minor tweaks at most.
