True!! The quality of his acting really improved the immersion of the game

Taking an opportunity to share something that delighted me when someone else passed it on: he also DJ’d the set on Impulse, and that’s his voice in both “Walk of Shame” and “Rolla Coaster” over on DarkStar.

He’s such a good actor.
I’m a lesbian but even I recognize that he’s sexy, bc I have eyes, and it’s a fact that he is.

The opener for PL is 🤌

phantom liberty is top notch quality, i wish i could play it for the first time again. Such a unique vibe in Dogtown and they nailed the OSTs, make sure to turn up the music volume. take it slow and dont speedrun the main quests, theres a bunch of stuff to explore and sidequests. Call me crazy but i liked it better than the main story in a way – to the point where i was sad after it ended and had to go meet that certain someone back in NC.

Solomon reed is such an awesome character. Idris kills it

I actually don’t know if you are being sarcastic or not. I feel like his accent is all over the place in Phantom Liberty. When he played as Stringer Bell in The Wire, his accent slipped a few times, but he was overall incredibly solid. I actually didn’t even know he was British till I saw an interview with him later.
I feel like in Phantom Liberty, his accent is really inconsistent. Sometimes his accent is straight American, but then other times I can hear his British English slip through really clearly.

Try not to think about the fact that you’re playing a game with Knuckles and Shadow.

I find he;s pretty flat the entire time

Happy that you’re playing but don’t come back into this sub before you complete it, spoilers fly everywhere nowadays

Phantom Liberty was the best xpac I played since, I guess the W3 ones.. I loved the base game and thought nothing could surpass it, but PL was just above and beyond, it was perfect! The story, the characters. Gotta do another playthrough soon.
Enjoy the ride bro.

As a Brit who only knows him for roles where he has his normal British accent, sometimes I do wish they went with his natural accent, but I have no complaints with his actual voice acting

It took a minute to get used to for me. It’s like he’s halfway British and halfway Stringer Bell from the wire. Still, great voicework.

Idris gives a nuanced performance. On my first run, he had me eating out of his hand. On my second run, he made me mad as hell by the end. The writing is really good, but a lot of it was due to his voice acting.
The actors playing Myers and So Mi also convincingly portray characters with two sides, I guess such ambiguity (duplicity?) is to be expected with a “spy” themed expansion, but Phantom Liberty really nails it. The fact that players have such different views of the key characters is testament to how layered they are.

From what I gather from watching him in interviews and stuff, he’s quite the gregarious British geezer, so to play the ultra-stoic Reed flawlessly is a testament to his acting ability and his ability to truly comprehend the character!

Phantom Liberty is simply impeccable, CD Project Red could make another DLC, this time with Jason Statham

Question to the thread what is Dogtown without Phantom Liberity installed ?, never made it over there once in 50 plus hours of playing

God I FUCKING WISH they let him keep his natural accent it would have sounded so much better. Sometimes Reed’s voice slips between an American and a thick London accent and it throws me off so much. Top notch nonetheless tho

This is the first game I’ve played in a long long time that actually made me feel concerned about what was going to happen.
Both the main game and PL I had massive doubts on if I “made the right choice” and even after replaying the endings I still am not sure for that saves V.

Fuck reed I always kill his ass

Ngl I hate his voice in this game with a passion. Usually I’m pretty chill about these things but for whatever reason his voice just doesn’t agree with me

Should I play this game after the main story of the primary game? I know games like the Witcher 3 you can play the hearts of stone dlc before the main story is over, curious about this one! I’m still enjoying my first playthrough of cyberpunk
