  1. Blurays on PC are a pain.
Only good to add movies to a digital library

What are you doing with that Blu Ray drive?

My motherboard and power supply went belly-up recently, so I salvaged what components I could and combined them with a new motherboard and power supply in an old case I had lying around.

I also had a Blu-ray rewriter that made the move, and I also chose to forego the RGB.

You mean a new PC with a built in cup holder

  5. what case is that? looks sick and I have some 5.25″ bay devices I wanna use

  6. I’ve used a similar scale case for my son’s machine (Corsair 780t), he’s currently using my old 1070 with a plan to upgrade his GPU for his birthday in October.

How’ve you found the GPU weight, did you manage to find a way to affix an anti sag bracket?

Currently I’m thinking I’ll need to drill into the case because the PSU shroud is miles from the GPU.

  7. hceuterpe

Yay phanteks! I have the exact same case for one of my PC builds😆

  8. SolidGreenDay

You have RGB components, just turned off. All PCs can be considered “no RGB” in this case

I have that same case! Since I moved all my parts to a Lian Li 11, it’s been sitting around empty for years. However, I’ve been toying with the idea of moving all my parts back into it because I miss my optical drive, and like you, I still listen to my music on physical copies.

i own an older model of this case Phanteks Entho primo

I also just completed a new build after 13 years and got the only case Microcenter had that had external 5.25 bays. So the Blu-ray made the move to one and the other has a cool little drawer in it.

The whole bottom part with the bay slots also has a magnetic cover, so it’s kinda hidden, which is cool.

Bluray was my dream peripheral. Plus the name Plextor, you hit the jackpot.

  13. Wickedfrick

I wish my tower had a disc drive slot. Love to put my Plextor Professional PXL-910s in there to rip CDs instead of using an external case one

  14. Yaarmehearty

    Yes! Another optical drive enjoyer.

It’s easily the cheapest way to build a music and movie library, and to back up things like GOG installers.

  15. likeonions

thanks phanteks for having cases with 5.25″ bays

  16. candycaneballs

Hey I have my computer with a drive reader too! But mines connected by power and data connectors hanging out the front of my PC instead of being integrated

  17. Domspun

I have this case and Blu-ray drive! It’s not my main anymore, it’s my Truenas machine now.

hey, just wondering here. why TUF board not MSI? I mean to matched your GPU. I know it’s just a brand thingy or probably didn’t find any better than current stock, but it’s still your rights. I’m just wondering that’s all.

because I used to mix n match brands but only stick with MSI board, until I discover msi center, it’s easier to control performance using it than other like afterburner or whatever is out there.

I set the profile to extreme and uncheck optimization in nvidia app and set auto in afterburner. that’s my reason. I had a gigabyte’s n asus’ GPU before, didn’t work quite well.

anyway, love your chasis. I have one too but optical drive is hard to find here in my country. but I used to have memory cards reader installed on the optical bay and fans controller. that was like over 10 years ago.
