The kids still want their Mario and the grown up fans are the gaming equivalent of Disney Adults

Idk what happened with Xbox. Care to explain, Reddit?

They can save even more money by not buying anything Nintendo at all! Then we’ll get articles like “Why millennials are killing the video game industry” XD

In fairnesss this was somewhat a clickbait title on the article. It wasn’t just a few words and was more along the lines of we understand not everyone can afford the switch 2 but are committed to still support the switch in the meantime.

PS3 did it first.

Come on Switch 2 emulator!

Each one has now had this moment at some point in history. Sony with the PS3, Microsoft with the Xbox One, and now Nintendo with the Switch 2.

You are all wildly out of touch with real life and reality if you think this is the same thing as xbox did

Idk i think ya’ll are wierd about this. Personally, i think the price point for the switch 2 is too high, so i simply will not buy it? Im not like… mad at nintendo for making a product that doesnt appeal to me. Its just not for you and thats okay
Iggy_Slayer
The games are mostly still overpriced on switch 1 and rarely ever dip in price. Sorry but a Wii u 2D platformer that only got a 1080p res boost isn’t worth $60.
Noid1111
My problem isn’t the console price but the games being so expensive
Jack-M-y-u-do-dis
Overpriced and underpowered
Poorly explained new way to manage physical media
Focuses more on extra services than previous generation

Hello Xbox one, we missed you

Bro, what the heck is going on over at Nintendo? They used to seem like the chillest of the big three (except their lawyers), but they’ve seemed tone-deaf as hell for a few years now.
SilentSasquatch2
Not saying Nintendo will go out of business anytime soon or doesn’t have a loyal hardcore base of fans, but it’s simply not true to say that they haven’t had huge misses in the past (ex: Wii U) and situations where they needed to slash the price of the console after 6 months to spur demand (the 3DS).
The idea that comments like this and perceived or actual high prices can’t have an impact on their bottom line makes no sense. Just because the Switch sold like gangbusters doesn’t mean the next one automatically will, especially with Nintendo’s history of releasing a killer console and following it up with a dud or disappointing sales relative to expectations.

So has Sony. It’s like they don’t learn from each other.

“Don’t you guys have smartphones???”-level of stupidity.

Media literacy is dead. They didn’t say this lmao

This is right up there with: “don’t you guys have phones?” and “this is a quadruple A game”😂

Sony too! Remember the PS3 “people can work extra shifts” comment?
To be fair, the Switch 2 pricing is actually pretty much in line (inflation adjusted) with every other Nintendo console ever. People just suck at Econ 101 and think that “number go up mean more expensive bad rawr!”
XxxLasombraxxX
True, but, Xbox made the decision on the cost, Nintendo is following tariffs. One is by choice the other is by force.
Yeah_Boiy
Playstation also did this with the PS3 at launch. Think it was priced a $500 when they announced it. All the major game software companies fall into the same trap when they have a very good generation previously.
OriginalGoatan
It sounds like the amazingly out of touch Sony PS3 era when they said “work more hours to buy one”
Either way it’s fascinating that Nintendo hired a guy with the name Doug Bowser and didn’t think he would try to kill Mario.
HorrorMatch7359
I asked again. So what wrong with this? Especially Switch still getting games even after Switch 2 release

[That still blows my mind – not only that it practically single-handedly torpedoed Microsoft’s growing hold on the gaming market – but that the XBox suits just thought the 360 (and the Kinect) would just ‘continue to see support’ while the XBox One became the ‘premium’ version of their service :P](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_JVVUnCWnY)

Dream CEO: I hear your concerns and I’ve decided to lower the price. We’re prioritizing our customers over profits.
Actual CEOs: I want your moneyyyy. I want it. I want it. I want it. Just gimme your moneyyyy.
