It’s that time again, wash your mousepad.
Not a quick wipe with a paper towel. I mean a proper wash. Warm water, a bit of soap, and some gentle scrubbing in the sink or shower.

Your mouse deserves a clean glide. Your wrist will thank you. And honestly… it’s probably grosser than you think.

Stay smooth, stay precise.

(Yes, that’s mine getting a full spa treatment.)

  1. I just throw mine for a light cycle in the washing machine. This looks like a harder way

I get the whole scrubbing thing, but I’m not too well versed in the step where you break the laws of gravity

Hey I’ve been in this house in My Summer Car. I accidentally burned it down whilst I was out drink driving to buy hotdogs and I left the sauna running.

monthly clean along with opening the pc for a quick clean, making a routine of it is good, because holy can they get dirty even if you dont snack at your table

I will occasionally give it a quick wash but it is dirty afterwards anyway.. so I just buy a new one when it is too gross.
I replaced mine once in the last 15 years however

  11. Glad you refrained from showing the dirty water run off!

The problem is i have an rgb mouse pad. With my old non rgb mouse pad I just put it in the washing machine.

I take my mouse pad to the shower with me like once a month. I thought that this was a common thing.

A bit of shampoo is even better than soap

  15. SickBurnerBroski

thought this was going to be a monitor shitpost but no, this is just a bigass mousepad.

    ROUSpad.

Bathroom wall is an interesting place to mount a giant mousepad.

I switched to self healing mats for this exact reason. Every cloth based mouse pad is a catch all for dead skin and eventually becomes super gross.

Interesting, I always dry it with a hair dryer

I’ve been using this technique on 2 different mouse pads for nearly 5 years now. One white, one black, both cheap and from random brands, still look as good as new.

I use water (duh), whatever shower gel I have at the time, and a soft dishwashing sponge to scrub.

I just toss mine in the washing machine

NGL.. I thought you had a touch screen in your shower.

A portable fabric/rug cleaner also works very well according to the color of the water that comes out.

my friend’s birthday was a couple of days ago and our gift was helping him build a new pc. we don’t have money to simply buy him a new one, so what we did was collect all the other parts from our past upgrades (like ram, motherboard, cpu, case that was unfortunately too small for the motherboard, a keyboard since he played on a laptop, and some other stuff that we could find that wasn’t being used). a friend was also able to find a gtx 970 at a decent price, so we collectively paid that with our money. when we got together, we gave him all the parts and he was able to afford the remaining stuff. when we got to his house to build his pc, i helped my birthday friend make room for in his desk for the pc and helped him clean his room and all while our more knowledgeable friend was building the pc.

so where do i want to get to? well, while i was helping my friend clean his desk, i noticed his mousepad was unbelievably dirty that it almost seemed to have layers of stains in it. it was disgusting. so while one of them was building the pc, and the other was cleaning the whole house, i was kneeling on his bathtub, seeing the water turn into a visceral color the moment i turned on the faucet and scrubbing the living shit out of that mousepad until the water coming out of the mousepad was as clear as the one coming from the faucet. that damn thing never had a better day in its poor life.
