For me it’s the opposite. Last week I had a cheater every 3rd game. Now I have gone 15-16 games without one.

Although I don’t personally encounter many cheaters as I am languishing in the scrub ranks, there are just way too many prominent people in the community complaining about this for it to be some sort of group hallucination. Question is, how prominent does someone have to be before Valve actually does something SERIOUS about the problem? I don’t know if you get much more prominent than Friberg.
Just give us back bloody Overwatch, even that was a vastly better solution than we have now (yeah, it leaked like a sieve, so bloody fix it).

Even worse, the higher the rank the more cheaters you meet and now in low ranks there a shit ton of smurfs because they don’t want to play high rank… so even the low ranks suffer.
Playing against a cheater or someone 10k elo above you is litteraly the same feeling.
So it already snowballed into a global problem on all ranks not only 25k+

There’s no reason for them to build a intrusive anti-cheat. There would be outrage from a huge amount of pc gamers because they wouldn’t want to install a ‘rootkit’ on their PC. Kernel drivers also have to be perfect, any minor issue can easily cause blue screens, which would cause even more outrage.
They make way too much money from the idiots that open cases for the risk to make sense to them for such little reward. Valorant is a much better option if you don’t want to pay for Faceit.

You need to understand, that Valve don’t give a shit about you, main purpose of this game is child and adult gambling.
Play faceit. Not even coz anticheat, but because it’s smaller community and you can report cheater, and every case will be reviewed manually by moderators.

Ordinary Anubis match against 18k-24k rated players, until I checked their online stats, a duo went from being silvers in CSGO September 2023, to being 12k (13.5k peak) in Premiere Season 1, to peaking at 24k and sitting at 23k only after a month of gameplay. from 12k to 24k in less than 20 days. Same with his friend except he was 2k lower in both seasons and somehow were carrying their team of players who have been 20k for a long time.

cheating problem is insane, actually just watched some recent premier match demos from me. There are even more people cheating than you thought, most of them are just increadible bad at the game, even with cheats.
