saw this being sold on facebook marketplace and it seemed like an amazing deal! the only reason i didn’t immediately buy it is because i’m in the process of building a PC right now, but this has been haunting me 😭😭. how bad did i fumble? would love to know if my intuition was correct for when i’m in the market for used parts in the future as i’m pretty new to this

It was probably a scam to be honest. The price for that is too good to be true

This case was known to overheat. But with way higher tdp parts, so this would be perfect.

    GPU ~ $550 used market
Rest of the parts ~ $350-450 used market

IMO it definitely would’ve been a great buy considering the market inflation if buying new.

Same parts new right now would be close to ~$1400. So to get the same performance you’d be looking around that price.

I personally would get my own parts because I like building PCs from scratch, so I’d take the hit. But if you’re trying to save a buck and don’t care about building, something like this would be great.

I wouldn’t call it an amazing deal, although somebody certainly spent more money on it than it’s worth. Case and noctua fan alone cost them as much as the motherboard and CPU.

So if you include those it looks like an alright deal, but that parts combo in a 50$ case with included fans would be average.

Current GPU shortage is the only thing that might make it seem appealing. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  4. good deal but not something to lose sleep over tbh.

I thought you bought this for a homelab lmao

  6. SavannaHilt

Probably fake.. that GPU alone should be able to get @600 in the current market.. and that is $100+ case

This is more a case of, if you get what is described, and it all works, then it is a good deal. Now, the chances that you don’t are fairly high and then, it is not a good deal.

  8. ScaryRedditMonster

Everything looks solid except for the motherboard. All and all it’s a win.

40 series cards, new and used, are going for more than $890… So, either that is being sold by someone who has no idea what it is…. some kid failing in school and mom selling his computer?

    Or scammer.

Fumbled? Bro you avoided an obvious scam lol

  11. Any-Company7711

there’s deals like this on ebay every other day; don’t sweat it just keep your eyes open

  12. Lord3quinox

4070 is 500+, Terra case is almost 200. That’s already 700. Sounds like a scam. Ive built an itx so I know how expensive these parts can be

  13. MoonEDITSyt

Pretty royal fumble if it’s real.. HOWEVER

I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. It doesn’t seem very legitimate, that price is too good.

  14. GearboxTheGrey

Paid almost that for my 4070 at launch.

  15. navagon

Not sure that could find into that case. I’m leaning towards scam on this one. There are so many out there now.

  16. JerryTzouga

The fact that you ask after buying is something else

Building a PC will be more valuable and rewarding beyond the monetary value because you will get to learn about everything that goes inside the PC. Something in life have more worth than their dollar cost

  18. I don’t believe for one second there’s a 4070 in there at that price. Most of the specs are probably legit EXCEPT for the GPU. My money is that it’s a 2070 at best.

I wouldn’t lose sleep over this even IF it’s authentic. For them to sell this thing for so low is either cause they were desperate (which I personally don’t like under paying someone if they really need it) or there’s something wrong with it.

  19. The cost of the gpu is almost the price of the whole computer, seem too good to be true.

  20. lilsnatchsniffz

A mini itx build when you’re new to PC would potentially be the biggest headache / expensive to maintain.

  21. Crymore68

I can build that with eBay parts for basically the same price

  22. Much_Program576

Um you dodged a huge bullet not dealing with 12v cables that melt without overclocking

  23. Potater1802

It’s okay. I fumbled a $2500 Water cooled 4090 Suprim build. It was 100% legit too.

  24. NadaBurner

Solid build ngl. Decent upgrade headroom and a very nice quality case.

  25. Lost_Tumbleweed_5669

An AM4 system with an X3D cpu is still much better for probably around the same price.

  26. xstangx

Over a 12400? lol, definitely not worth crying over.

  27. Throwaythisacco

honestly that’s not a great deal in my opinion, maybe? ehh. 12400 is mediocre in the high range. From a low range perspective it’s a blessing, but if you’re looking for something that pairs with a 4070 a 12400 is not really it

  28. KazefQAQ

Ok deal, not too crazy so you can sleep tight
