The team "Gooners" in Americas had planned on contesting some drops going into the finals, however everyone was surprised when come game 1 they dropped out in the middle of nowhere.
It has come out that PUBG / TO has strictly forbidden a team from dropping somewhere another team was going to drop.
What is this pathetic BS PUBG?

Really hope Gooners have more than just their word on this.
>We received an official warning from
@PUBGEsports
Krafton and were informed that we cannot hot drop another team for the drop spots which we claimed. Doing so CAN result in potential fines or disqualification.
>I love being forced to play the game THEIR way instead of how we’ve been playing. GOONERS have been GOONED at the highest levels. We’ve been specifically warned that we cannot drop on a regional partner team.

if this is the case then how would krafton assign drop spots?!
That’s a weird thing to ban. Hot drops aren’t usually polices like this
Wonder if this is what Tig was talking about on stream today.
Regardless, kinda bullshit. If spots are claimed, it’s fair game.
Every team should drop at one spot to protest, or every team claims every POI every series. Lol.
Just do it anyway fuck it, call their bluff
I’ve always thought teams calling out drop spots was dumb. Go wherever you want, whenever you want. You shouldn’t need to declare where you’re going to anyone.
If they have the enough evidence of targetting / harassment or whatever that they claim they do. Their decision to respond to this just makes total sense, it doesn’t matter what they respond. PUBG never take action on anything ever EVEN with evidence. The decision from PUBG did not come from them just saying their gonna hotdrop them 18 games. That would be insane to say that to a team, if you account for everything else Krafton claims they did then this makes total sense
edit: Matt is leaving out the part where Krafton sent an email claiming they know that they’ve been harassing QAD and threatening them. The extra 18 games of hotdrops just supports their claim of targetted harassment. I’m suprised they weren’t DQ’d already if they are being accused of what Krafton is accusing them of.
Is this why icyflex didn’t play?
So they allow Bushido to cheat but forbid a team from playing in a way that works for them? Makes sense
Pubg is becoming some scripted bullshit. Free passes for partners; organized drops by Krapton. It’s the WWE of esports.
Is this because of what happened to that one Korean team in the last Worlds?
They went from first place to third iirc because a team hot dropped them in the last two games. There was good reason for the hot drop and it made for a great story, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some major butthurt as a result.
It amazes me how people are unable to realise that there is way more to this than what Gooners are saying. Anyone believing what they’re saying is literally buying crocodile tears.
PUBG barely ever acts out to punish teams and they did here, which tells anyone remotely intelligent that Gooners did something(s) major.
This clearly has literally **nothing** to do with teams being allowed or not allowed to hot-drop and everything to do with obvious targeted malicious behaviour. If people cant understand that then they’re just lost.
I don’t know if all of them are involved, but its absolutely obvious at least one of them has done some serious shit.
Wtf is going to? Bushido can cheat and they don’t care and now this??
Everyone cheating online, teams signing ex cheaters to their teams, teams cheating online, but nahhh just dont hotdrop another team thats where they draw the line? Game is cooked after 2025 (in the west)
There HAS to be more to it than what SimplyMatthias is telling us? Collusion or some sort.. If not? Then that’s total BS!
To be clear, there wasn’t any intentional griefing, and I specifically had a chat with a member of the team and told them it wasn’t anything personal, we just need those drop spots because it best fits our play style. We’ve also looted the drops, or similar drops, in previous rounds. Bunt is a jokester, he made jokes/memes about it to let them know we were coming to downplay the fact that we were hot dropping them, obviously someone got their panties in a twist and reported us for “targeted harassment” but he told other teams in the same way that we were hot dropping them for spots, and they left. You can leave, or hot drop, both options work, and we were down for either. These guys ran to PUBG and got a get out of jail free card and claimed it was harassment. It’s a chicken shit way of playing the game and Bunt should have gotten a warning for harassment (he apologized btw and deleted all the jokes), but they can NOT dictate teams drop spots, that’s match fixing. They also told us that any ambiguous activities were subject punishment as well per administration review. So we basically had to go out of our way to avoid fighting that team, thinking we could get fined or disqualified from finals.
xennny said a lot of shit, not sure why he was gobbling PUBG on that, but I assume it’s because he has history with Greg (not my business to share). But that’s the real deal facts for you. Saudi org backed team that’s a regional partner team, got immunity from us, by Krafton/PUBG. GG go next.
apparently from what i gathered is that there was some targeted harassment but can also just be drawn off as simple banter. from what greg said, bunt literally just send random numbers and said “this is your IP” and tbh, I dont doubt thats what happened. all in all, krafton was being super weird and gooners is a throw together finals level team who is fucking with people. Its really not serious at all and krafton is weird. however I will say specifically targetting a team to fuck them out of qualing is a dick move. that IS their livelihood.
