I recently (last week) got scammed, but it was from out of no where, so they hacked my friends account asked me to sub in for her faceit thing, gave her my faceit id and then stole all my skins and cases 500 dollars gone

COD had the idea where your ID would be attached to your account, people had a massive issue with this but I honestly believe this is the only real solution. I understand that it will increase identity theft but it's closer to a solution.
I got scammed this week, fuck this they were so organized they were 4 people involved in the scam. Its getting pretty sophisticated

Timely, I came really close to scanning a sus QR code, initiated by a seemingly normal Steam account – make sure you have all the 2fa and stuff setup, and if you’re suspicious at all check your authorized devices and make sure it’s all you.
I hate this whole thing and system that microtransactions created. This only exist because of all these transactions.
A friend of mine got hit by the QR code/faceit login not even 5 days ago.. and now we call him qrean. Unfortunate that valve adds a 7day trade hold, but yet you can't revert the trade within the 7 day margin.. makes no sense.
DO NOT USE CS FLOAT. THEY WILL BE INVESTIGATED AFTER COFFEZILLA VIDEOS. THEY ARE A OFFSHORE COMPANY USING A WARE HOUSE AS A US SHELL. YOU CAN GET SCAMMED SO EASILY ON FLOAT. THEN WILL BAN YOU IF YOU TRY TO WITHDRAW ANY DECENT MONEY.

best test is sign in using a very fake email and password if it gives you acess its a scam

The 30 day market restriction when you change your password or steam guard actually prevented me from getting scammed. I scanned a qr code on a faceit group like an idiot and as soon as i did it and it didnt log me in i realised it was a spoof site, immediately changed my password/steam guard/ and disconnected all devices (there was a new phone in california somewhere, im guessing was the scammers) and the market restriction helped me safeguard my account in time before the scammer stole all my items
