Zombie Plague 4.3 was so revolutionary back in the day, also Zombie Base Builder
But Zombie Escape is the perfect version
I played some 1.6 escape servers from Mexico (Lancelot, MXS) and they are a mix of Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil and CSO

Man I played so much Zombie Escape and fixed spawn deathmatch in CSS, good times. Then CSGO came out and I realized that I don't actually like regular CS at all lol. Deathmatch is fun cause you just get to shoot, which was fun, but random spawns are cancer. It's literally just spawning behind someone, shooting them, then someone spawns behind you and shoots you.
Warcraft was probably the best mod
I have thousands of hours in Zombie Escape only. It truly was a niche in gaming history and I wish it comes back when the new scriptiing tools get launched. Can't see it being popular in CS2 becaues of map file sizes tho
This game looks old and miserable
CSO was pretty big in SEA aswell. And like any other asian online games, it was pay to win, but Zombie Escape became a unique mode where you wish you got a whaler in the lobby with their shiny OP guns. I remember the most sought out gun in zombie escape was the MG3. Fun times
Ah yes zombie infection servers from cs1.6, and crossfire was really aight
valve needs to show the community modes and more obscure things more love. we need a working server browser. imagine having surf and all that good stuff as a official gamemode thats ez to get into and play

There was Zombie Escape maps back on CS 1.6, Rep•ster is wrong… American servers didn't played enough Zombie Plague to discover those maps, there were Zombie Plague maps like a straight line and you could race to the end and get to a GOD MODE room… Of course, it werent the most voted maps.
In fact, they were mostly played on South American servers.
cs zombies was my introduction to cs thanks to my friends older cousin. then I found out about jailbreak, gungame, scouts knives and office deathmatch and I was hooked

Ngl I am still playing ZE from many games and found out Counter-Strike ZE has the most goat gamemode ever even you play on source, global offensive or CS2 they are still give a huge ton of fun experience.
this mode will never be better then zm war3 cs.1.6
the whole point is just abuse guns with strong knockback effect and luring them to narrow corridor. when you or your team losing the supressing fire the zombies can freely run again and touch you. it's almost auto win if someone in your team have pay to win gun.

As much as I would love for Valve to add stuff like this into the game, they are a lot more worried about adding new skins to milk us dry instead.

These modes are as old as cs hundreds of hours playing zombies on source.

Hurts to see this mode go, it was really popular back in the day. Many CS knock-off tried to recreate it, but failed miserably, because they failed to realize it's the physics of source that made it so great. It was so addicting, but nowadays most servers are dead and some terribly balanced.
When I first bought CSGO the first thing I played is Zombie Escape because I wanted to compare it to the CS 1.6 version of it
