I got that processor, a microATX mobo and 32gb of DDR4 ram for $400 tax included not too long ago from Microcenter , that place is the bomb.
Chao_Zu_Kang
Well, price is okay. Depending on what you want to do with that CPU, it might or might not be worth that price.
ro_g_v
It’s an old i9, makes sense. It’s still pretty decent
bb0110
Not a bad price but not crazy either. You can find that for around $270 or so just about anytime.
ltbauer
isnt that the cpu that needs a boatload of watt?
Spicywolff
Seeing as I’ve seen 12900k and MB deals for 300$ it seems bad value to me. But I never buy JUST a CPU, it’s always a combo deal whenever we do a fresh build.

Of course, it’s from Microcenter…
XRTrypticon
And inside is a i3 whit a i9 heatsink 💀
Cute-Lock6426
yes its a good price. people here seem to not appreciate something thats more then a 65% discount on a price tag thats already in the 600’s. i hope you enjoy it.
also update your motherboard chipset before playing. these cpus run too hard and will degrade over time
edit: i guess its not this generation. still always best to update anyway but thats your choice

Well its still an intel sooo you could’ve done better with ANYTHING (a qualcomm, a mediatek, an amd, a huawei, no matter what)
portable_bones
Sounds expensive for a 12th gen honestly
StonerJesus73
Yooo, a Intel processor from the long long ago before they had programed sui***e built in.
I just got a free 12700 from my store because of a inventory issue. Can’t return it, can’t get any cash for it. It doesn’t have a SKU for it.
mrAnmol
Seems like a fair deal.
breathe_iron
12th gen; this smells like a steal! Enjoy!
BacklogGamingJunkie
Hell I’m still using my i7 8700K which is 8th gen and it still plays nice with the rtx4080 in 4K at 120hz. That’s a good find
misjudgedinall
That is a 12th gen so you got it for the current price

OP discovers the “i#” portion of the model number is the least important part.

I recently-ish moved and your post got me curious. I went from the nearest microcenter being 3h away…to one being in the next town over and I’ve had no idea for the few months I’ve been living here. Guess I’ll be taking a trip over next week 🤞

sounds like too much for a 3 generation old furnance.
2560x1080p
That’s the going price for the 12th gen nowadays, especially the K and KF series they stay cheap.
Cave_TP
The thing is almost 3 years old and forces you to get an expensive cooler and mobo, anything more and it would be overpiced
ottosucks
For a 2 generation old i9, yes. Congrats.
Beneficial_Star_6009
I mean it is an old i9 but still, you lucky bastard!
Susuriza
I paid 100€ for my 12600k…. Not a steal but not a bad price. Enjoy your new cpu
