Yes. But this might be a good idea so I can keep track of what’s what. I just label them either SSD or NVMe, but I have a lot of drives.

My naming scheme is strangely identical to yours.

Not anymore apparently. We have just bared witness to the birth of a new meta.

I didn’t even knew you could change the icons, but I’m glad to not be the only one to name them with type and capacity!

Youโ€™re the only one who even knows this is possible ๐Ÿ˜ญ

  6. You are the one.

Recently bought another PC for my wife. I labeled the HDD “ONLY STORAGE NO GAMES”. At least now I know for sure she will use the nvme drives.

I do this too. At least, I try to. My external Seagate HDDs came with the pictures by default, and Iโ€™m trying to get my external SanDisk SSD to be the same.

Not anymore. Gonna do this when I get home.

Totally doing this once I get home. Thanks OP.

Yes, you are. But I must admit that in the past I have had the original Windows drive icons replaced with nicer ones. Now I’m to lazy to do so and I’ve lost these ico files.
However I’ve had all packed folder icons replaced with nice brown-beige versions

I’m 30 years old using and building PCs…I never knew this could be done.

    Don’t know shit!! Lol

  12. doofthemighty

I do this for my removeable media but not the internal drives.

Speaking of SiliconPower, are they as good as they advertise endurance-wise? Planning on using one for my laptop since they are cheaper than Samsung Evo or WD Red as local SMB drive mainly for videos.

I donโ€™t care because drive letters are an abomination and I try to ignore that part of the system

    I can’t decide between aintnobodygottimeforthat.gif or butwhy.gif

  17. Xenofan2019

Holy hell… I didn’t even thought about it, but you decided to do something like this

  18. ImBored_104

Since side bar became a thing, I think I’ve been in this particular screen once or twice… but yes you are the only 1.

  20. That_TechGuru

Thats honestly extremely smart, instead of name coding them you visual code them so you always know what drive it is! Im stupid or smth so after a while i kinda gotta think what drive it is lol. Im stealing this idea 100000%

  21. Big-Note-508

naaaah ! I do it ๐Ÿ˜ I thought I am the only maniac who does it ๐Ÿคฃ I even name them like this : WD Black SN850X 2TB, Seagate Barracuda Compute 8TB, Cardea Graphene A440 1TB ๐Ÿ˜‚
