When you figure it out let me know. I’m tired of forgetting to save my sims houses and having my cat walk across the power button. I don’t think they know how to flip switches yet.
The ATX power switch is something called a “momentary” switch. You press it, it makes contact and the instant you let go, the contact is released (but the PC will remain on).
This is a non-momentary switch. Its possible to connect this to the header power switch pins, but this will connect the pins and keep them connected. Some PSU’s should be fine with that, but I’ve heard stories of shorting those pins damaging the PSU after long term use.
I suggest searching for a “momentary toggle switch”, and that will mimic the PC (atx) power switch behavior.
Look up “momentary toggle switch” I couldn’t see any with a cover. Just attach it to the power button pins on the mobo.
The one in the image wont work because the system shouldn’t start unless you flick the switch on then back off.
Lol, and here I have been looking at switch bots to just turn on by voice or on schedule.

As others have said, you need a momentary switch.
If you want something fun go to an autoparts store and get a generic ignition switch for $15
Wire your positive to the start terminal, negative to ground.
That’s it, you now start your computer with a key.

Mnpctech sells this style of switch in the momentary variety to be used for power/reset. Look under fighter pilot toggle on their site.
I would love to do this. I’ve had the thought of having to flip a few switches then turn a key to fire it up. *like a jet engine* figured just wire them in series on the power button cable but idk

You want a momentary toggle, not one of these. You can buy a regular one and get the cover separately.
