It's a horror/action third person shooter. Definetly more horror/slow paced gameplay than action.
The story takes place in Area 51 where scientists researched for futuristic stuff, but they discovered something dangerous (like always) and it infected the whole zivilisation living there. You, as some kind of special agent forcement, and your mates are send to this place to check what's going on there and recover precious data about this incident. The story is ok. Somewhat basic I think and the was a bit weird written at some points for my taste, but all in all it's ok.
The strong part of this game is the gameplay. You have got 2 guns and a special suit with ice abilities to kill your enemies in different ways.
The game is very polished (especially compared to its predecessor). The visuals (on PS5) were very quite good and the soundtracks were good too.
And the game has a many little references to other horror games/media.
It's not on the same level of Resident Evil 2 Remake of course, but it actually made more fun to play than the RE3 Remake.

This post came at the perfect time. I just played RE2R and it’s become my favorite game, so I was looking for similar games to play!
Thank you for this recommendation, I am a horror game lover and this seems like a very good option.
Ummm Dino crisis ? Anyone
Whoever came up with that game title needs to be fired…..out of a cannon, into the sun.
Fighter of the nightmare!
I prefer the previous game Daymare 1998.
It’s more of a straight-forward RE2 clone whilst 1994 has these weird colour coded enemies that have to be defeated using powers.
Daymare 1998 on PC is absolute ass because I can’t even set basic controls the way I want it which instantly makes game 0/10 for me. I wonder if this one is any different…
The AI slop game cover doesn’t inspire confidence
