Was thinking of trying 70s/80s vibes
I’d nix the shelves and the lamp. Maybe a backlight for the monitor, or a soft/warm small table lamp, plus overhead light. The chair is also a bit bulky for the space.
Some may think I’m out of line, paint the paneling.
It feels cluttered, probably because the space it is in is small to start with, look at minimising the things on the desk. Put the tower on the floor (on a platform) where the bin is. Powerboar on the underside of the desk, add some soft led lighting and a few plants.
Get rid of the computer / desk / chair and add more cat stuff.
You could paint those walls with a light [olive green](https://pin.it/4poFeZ62S) paint to give off an ’80s vibe. Place the power strip on the floor, hidden, and improve the lighting with a [neon sign ](https://a.co/d/4RyH94V)
IF you have nothing to rest on the shelves then just take them down, maybe snag a headset hanger for underneath the desk. Then position the frame over on the right wall or hang the guitar.
This place looks so cozy tho 🙁
