Find one, tell them an inductor has snapped loose, send them this picture, ask if you can bring it in.

Part of me hopes a bird flies in my room right now and smashes my monitor so I can get the new Alienware 32″ 4k/240 OLED monitor. I have their original OLED ultrawide and I can’t freaking believe how well it’s held up.

The coil is easily repairable. But on the left, the beige ish line seems like a ripped off trace which is much harder to repair. also it looks like you knocked off two 0402’s too (small rectangular components).

If you are in US you are in luck, you can order that part online. If you are not confident on soldering leave it to professional. or just buy new board, both cost about the same. I could order that part in china and install it with payment of couple beers the prepping takes.

Why are you cleaning your MB?. I’ve got a computer running right now that’s been on nearly continuously for almost 10 years and it gets a bi annual blow out with an air compressor

did you use a sand blaster – i’ve seen boards with less scratches left outside at the tip
