No 2.5″ bays no problem.

I’m wiping seven 2 and 1/2-in drives with no 2 and 1/2-in bays. No sweat, paper and cable ties to the rescue for the next 3 hrs…
Don’t worry these drives are EOL, some have even started the clicky, clacky of death.

Is this just regular printer paper? You’re going to start a fire.

If those are spinning drives you are probably plugging the air holes and going to run into some problems. Not sure what happens exactly but I imagine the spinning increases air pressure without that relief and could cause a head crash

Edit: I see you said you’re wiping them and then recycling. In that case, just crush the casing with a hammer and impact. It’ll smash the plate inside and not be realistically recoverable. If you need truly certified destroyed drives it would probably be better to send them off and have a company do that, save you many hours.

The heat build up without any room for dissipation is going to kill the drives fast. Best to have just laid them loosely without mounting them in that open space; – even having them dangling would have been better to this fire hazard.

    B+ for creativity.

F for practicality. This has the potential to burn your house down with your family inside it.
