Building a bread tower to speedrun the game in 30 minutes is hillarious.

For many MANY years, it was always Master of Magic. I only finally broke my 30 year addiction by downloading a cheat program and beating it with every possible spell, having maximum sized cities in every possible location, and beating my enemies down so hard that their capitals only had a few citizens cowering in mud huts, surrounded by corrupt volcanoes. And only then, after I had established my absolute power over both plains of existence, did I allow my enemies to die. And finally, I’ve been free of that game’s temptation.

If I knew how to get them to run, I’d add MechWarrior 2 and Panzer Command Operation Winterstorm to that list, but I’m not techie enough to make ancient games like that run on my computer lol

I play lots of games from the 90s every now and then, heroes2, heroes3, settlers 2, war1 and 2, GTA1 and 2… Even new open projects like you: open RCT, openRA, etc… also Lucas games through ScummVM or arcade games through NeoGeo like of course MetalSlug…. I never get sick of any.
Oseirus
The original Monkey Island Trilogy.
Sure I’ve got every puzzle and joke memorized now, but they’re still fantastic fun.
I’ve also got a random backlog of DOS- and early-Windows-era games on Steam and GoG that I’ll fire up once in a while, like Crystal Caves, Cosmo, Raptor: CotS, Commander Keen, Descent 3, etc.
Additionally, there are original CD copies of Starcraft, Powerslide, Quake, Mechwarrior 4, and more than a few others that I’m forgetting tucked away in my closet.
The only game I have yet to find that I really want to round out my collection is Strike Squad. I’d also love to find some of the old Edutainment games like Gizmos and Gadgets, Treasure Mathstorm, Reader Rabbit, Lazytown, and the like to pass down to my kids.

Depends… And is changing every now and then… Funnily enough that was CnC remastered (i count that as classic/old as outside of visual rework it is the same game and now looks like I remeber the originals) for a while (until I had all missions completed).. And currently is CnC generals.
But what is always there for me – UT99. I can have month or even years between starting that game – within minutes I am 100% back in the game, like I never stopped playing it.
