I played fortnite with my niece and every skirmish was her just holding down shoot and running straight at the enemy. Never tried any other tactic.
I basically did the same thing as your niece back in vanilla wow where I rebound everything on my left hand to spells because I thought it was really stupid to be both moving and casting with my left hand while my right hand wasn’t doing anything.
So I would move forward by holding down both mouse keys, and I never strafed at the time so I just turned my camera a lot.
