TL;DR: Star Wars Outlaws underperformed, stock took a hit, publicity for AC Shadows is being quietly canceled. Speculation the game may be delayed.

Also bad timing with the Ghost of Tsushima sequel being announced. Even though that’s a year out. People are going to think about it.

Ubisoft deserves worse

Nothing weird. They just have to clear up this bad PR that’s floating around regarding the figurine.

Ubisoft finally realized that Assassin’s Creed is not very good. This game will be cancelled and the CEO plans to make a public apology for all those lame trailing missions.

Is about how I feel on any Ubisoft news.

Just my anecdotal experience of the game: When it was first announced I was stoked for an AC game set in Japan. Ya know, AC in feudal Japan with ninjas and shit sounds awesome. But then they revealed Yasuke and I was like meh. AC is about stealth so a massive character wielding two handed swords and clubs in my ninja assassin game was really unappealing to me. Then the gameplay footage dropped and it was very underwhelming. Having played and loved Tsushima you can’t help but compare. And in comparison AC Shadows looks painfully mid. Top that off with the inevitable Ubisoft crap and my hype for the game quickly died away.
THEN Star Wars Outlaws came out and was mediocre overall by all accounts. If that’s any indication to how things are going with Ubisoft games then I’ll pass on AC Shadows. Now you have them canceling press stuff at the last minute…yeah I think this game is fucked. It’s merely a few months out from release. Even with significant delays I don’t see the game changing very much at all.

I will never, ever play another open world Ubisoft slop game again. It genuinely gives me a pit in my stomach thinking about climbing a tower and unlocking an area’s map, or going and doing some dumb side quest that an intern programmed into the game in between bites of Flaming Hot Cheetos. These games are the jankiest and shittiest games I have ever had the misfortune of playing, and time and time again I’ve been gaslit and mislead into trying them because they are “fun”. I hope that Ubisoft completely collapses as a company and anyone with talent still working there escapes to a better place.

Ubisoft sucks

Ubisoft named their next AC game perfectly. That’s where it belongs, in the shadows, forgotten and alone.

It’s a non story, just they pulled out of the show.
I think it’s to late now for a change, the game will come out as is. They will bet on normal AC fans buying and not caring about the bad press etc.

And then Sony slapped Ubisoft with that Ghost of Yotei reveal. Not a good time for Ubi I imagine

For anyone was hyped for AC Shadows: play ghost of tsuschima instead and be hyped for Yotei

My guess, part of sweet baby lmao.

Whatever. If anyone wants to play Assassin’s Creed Japan, they should play Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro

It’s a pass for me a well. Has been for months… not unless they switch Yuske with Ryu, you know, just saying 😏

My take as a long time AC Player.
AC has prided itself on being ~95% historically accurate in terms of setting and how characters were/would behave.
The characters they choose fit the setting, and are typically the major ethnicity featured in the game.
And as time has gone on, IMO, the games have gotten worse. Especially after revelations. 3 and black flag I liked still. But the greek and egyptian ones felt like stealth was not really the name of the game anymore.
WIth yasuke alone, they broke their first two rules that made the games immersive and “accuracte” as it could get.
Especially when all of japan is screaming that Yasuke was not a samurai yadda yadda.
I feel like we got devs who want to be trendy and go with new game styles and change the format that always worked combined with a desire to “with the times” in a series of games that are definitely period pieces and it ruins the game.
And as an assassin, the only black man in japan is not assassin material because he would stick out like the moon on a starry sky.
***On top of all of that, Skull and Bones really fucking burned me and I really wanted to like it. Just for the goddamn endgame to be literally a freemium coin collecting simulator.***
I am not happy with Ubisoft rn.
Edit: Had a thought before people possibly reply to me worried about being woke. Or that word being thrown around.
They could have gone the woke route by actually pointing to white men being in japan, rich ones, and make them evil, who tried to control the country (like they did in real life) and feel like that japan was a bunch of barbarians (like they did in real life) and because those guys were european primarily (like they were in real life) you make them templars (because it was at that time a major european order in the game’s story line) and point to them as the big bad, and there werent many so you could reasonably make multiple bosses like they did in other games…
***and it would fit RIGHT IN with the assassins creed overarching plot AND tick all the boxes for the templar order and still be “woke” according to people who dont like games where white man bad.***
