While this is a impressive number any game can be proud of, its interesting to see how this stacks up to other games. Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Pokemon Scarlet Violet, and Black Myth Wukong sold over 13 million units in their very first week being out since release. It took Elden Ring a year to sell 20 million copies. It took Helldivers 2 12 weeks to hit 12 million copies, beating God of War Ragnarok to become Sonys fastest selling first party game ever.

The historical period around Ghost of Yotei is 1603. Although the Ghost games are ‘fictional’ , they are based on historical events. This game I am particularly really excited for being that 1603 marks the beginning of the Tokugawa Shogunate and the Edo period. One of the most powerful central governments in Japanese history. Considering how much Sucker Punch researched before developing Ghost of Tsushima, I am really excited what they have in store for us with this game in particular the events surrounding it.
