Wedge a butter knife between the heat sink and CPU, apply heat with a heat gun, slowly go around the CPU with the knife while prying upwards.

Well if it was still in the case I would suggest running a demanding workload right before extracting the CPU, but since you have already dissembled the PC your best bet is a heat gun and some patience.

Butter knife, put flat end under lip between cpu and cooler, pry.
Do it on a soft surface like where you have it and the worst that’ll happen is a little thermal paste on the surface

To avoid that, I had my CPU run 10 min at 100% with a random online bench. The coolar came off without any issue

Can prob use some cleaning alcohol to weaken the bond. I would try that before more forceful methods cause the pins are on the cpu unlike modern ones.

I little removed the paste with a knife and I think now that CPU fried to cooler, because I don’t see the paste there

Dont use heat, just wiggle and shimmy it side to side till it comes loose, dont force or pry it in any way

For future reference, just run Prime95 for 10 minutes BEFORE you try to remove the CPU cooler and you will never have this problem again.

I’ve heard that a heat gun or a hair dryer could burn the CPU or something, try dumping isopropyl alcohol on the sides, then try to pass a line through it, the isopropyl alcohol usually removes thermal paste, soak the line in it
I did differently when it happened to me, I didn’t had any patience to do what I told you and just wedged a big flat knife between the CPU and cooler, then applied pressure, it yoinked the CPU out of it, I took some precautions to avoid bending any pins, but I don’t recommend it at all, it’s not because I’m crazy that I’m gonna tell people to do the same lol, and it was the lesser cooler from AMD as well, the only value that has is resale value with the CPU in the original box (which I still have)
