Probably a steamvr to compete with the quest. They would need that arm cpu to keep the battery life high on a small light battery.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Hobbyist are using Winulator to run PC games on phones. If Steam wants to do it, they can.

I speculate that Valve will generally creating something good for gaming as a whole.
Thanks Gabe!

I’m too ignorant to understand what this means but I really want Valve to come out with a real good alternative to Windows for those of us who have a PC only for gaming.
It feels like we are close to that?

This is hardly news. Valve would be insane not to test a Snapdragon based steam deck, given the clear advantages in terms of battery life.
This doesn’t mean the next deck will be Arm based, it just shows they’re testing it.

YES! More mac and linux ports, get off of Windows? I’d be all over that.

This is actually really interesting.
The primary issue with the steam deck is battery life (As with any portable computer. Like laptops)
ARM64 is much more power efficient than x86_64 so an ARM steam deck would be a good move if they can get the comparability for it.
Even better if, like Proton, they make the compatability layer, or emulator, or what whatever they do open to the public then that would be a win for everyone with ARM laptops or looking to buy one.
