God of War Ragnarok Debuts With Almost 23,000 Concurrent Players on Steam, 60% Fewer Than 2018’s God of War

  1. Who would have guessed that locking the game away from so many regions would cause less people playing your game the ‘official’ way.

  2. Maneaterx

First Concord, now this, State of Play with a Horizon remake incoming, and players are not happy about it. Sony seems confused as fuck, it’s funny to see as a long-time PC player.

    What are they even doing?

  3. I used my wallet to vote against tokenism.

Hasn’t Sony learnt anything from Helldivers 2?

  5. SignalGladYoung

it’s very good game everyone should play it if you enjoyed the first one or wait a year until it comes to GOG maybe.

  6. DifficultEmployer906

Has nothing to do with the psn account requirements for me. I just have no desire to play it again, like I did the first one. I found Atreus’ sections to be incredibly boring and tedious

  7. eldon3213

Maybe they will put out there games day 1 maybe that would help, still I think that’s coming soon.

  8. Eziolambo

Include psn requirement and full mrp for a 2 year old game and people are not willing to buy now. Also 6gb vram limit is an issue.

  9. Yeah screw Sony.

    Not buying this.  Arrrrrrr

  10. Significant_L0w

sony had a good regional pricing back then plus this psn drama surely is affecting their sales too

  11. Think_Speaker_6060

What do they expect? Requiring psn account so most or some players can’t play?

  12. For a port made by 4 people, max 10 involvement, they made their money back easily 😄

  13. Vayne_Solidor

Personally I just got tired of waiting and watched a playthrough. I’ll probably pick it up on sale, but no way at full price

  14. larsonbp

Maybe if they hadn’t have blocked 60% of the world from playing it…

  15. WeakDiaphragm

PSN requirement and higher minimum specs are probably the reason. But let’s give it a few more hours (or days). Downloading 160GB takes time.

  16. EffectiveKoala1719

Locked in my region i cannot even buy it on steam. Do they really think pc gamers will buy the console just to play this?

I want to play it, but the sea is really beautiful these days.

  17. DNihilus

175 GB… I don’t need 4k res or whatever in that gbs but here we are

  18. Geeekaaay

I’m just blown away that they think we’re willing to spend full price for a 2-year-old game single player experience. If it had launched on PC it release fine whatever. But delaying it just to keep your fucking stupid console sales and then still charging me full price two years late? Nah, I’ll wait for sales years later.

Also the requirement for a PSN account on a single player game is absolutely stupid. Helldivers at least that kind of understood because it’s supporting the multiplayer functionality of the background. What the hell is the reasoning for me needing a PSN account for a single player game? Why region lock it so hundreds of countries cannot buy the game legally?

  19. CamNM1991

Very little marketing build up for these PC ports they kind of just sneak up on you, that surely doesn’t help anything out.

  20. Sparrow1989

Ps account needed and apparently the third most popular video card in the world is locked out from playing it… surprised it hit 20k

  21. IIZANAGII

Full price even though it came out 2 years later, PSN requirement and it’s available in limited countries

  22. auroriasolaris

PSN requirement itself could be meaningless, its just a simple account creation, no 3rd party launchers or anything…

Buuut fact that half the globe is somehow not “supported” whatever that means is self inflicted bullet.

  23. spboss91

There’s over 50,000 seeders and leechers on various torrents of this game.

I wonder how many of those are from countries whose users have steam but can’t create psn accounts.

  24. Sometimes pirating games is more morally right than buying.

  25. bigntazt

Ignorant Sony is best Sony? They love to get greedy when they are on top.

  26. SevenDeviations

The drop is most likely because 1. It was a less popular game overall and 2. A lot of people played it on PS5 and got the optimal experience out of it already

  27. Both_Refuse_9398

Game is locked to 180countries, what did they expect

  28. AlmoranasAngLubot69

If only Sony didn’t lock this game behind region lock and PSN requirement then that number would be higher.

  29. RexTheEgg

Idk why they made singleplayer game unplayable without PSN. Obviously, they don’t learn anything from mistakes.

  30. Not doubling dipping already played it on PS5. The sales are low because Sony keep making DUMBASS decisions locking millions of people out.

  31. I’ll consider getting it if they drop the account requirement

  32. H3LLGHa5T

Maybe people don’t like being forced to sign up to PSN and having to pay full price for a two year old game and since PSN isn’t even available in half of the world they’re obviously missing a huge market, also lots of people have PS5 and since it barely has any games they have nothing to do with them, if you have friends with a PS5 and the game, you might as well borrow it and play…

  33. “Why is there such a difference?! We don’t understand!”
