People in this sub forget there is a world outside of the usa and prices can go crazy when it come to amd, or second hand.

I got 4060 not because it’s a great card, but at the moment of purchase it was the best for the amount of money I was willing to pay, and for me needs.

  2. Clipzy22

I got a 4060ti for my cousins first build. Only 300 usd

  3. Starshipstoner420

I have a 4060 and I love it, all the hate is stupid honestly

  4. I’d understand if it was the 16gb version, but everyone gets the 8.

  5. AngelosOne

What’s wrong with the 4060? I got one for my second PC, because the form factor can be tiny and the thing barely has any power draw. Super power efficient – and close to performance to a 2080TI, which it replaced.

  6. RascalsBananas

To be fair, if I could afford it I would definitely go for the 4060.

Yes, it is not very price performant, but its the only card that can run some of the locally rendered AI stuff I want to tinker with, that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

But likely, if I upgrade anytime too from my 1060 3gb (switched my 2070 with my sister, who is playing much more games lately) it will be a 3060ti 12gb. Really need much VRAM for some of my projects, but AMD really doesn’t cut the cheese in those applications.

German market the 4060 is a piece of shit, the same with the 4060ti

  8. WeakDiaphragm

Stop hating on the card. The builds that feature the car are very affordable and the performance is worth the money.

  9. iothomas

People forget that the reason that is it not good is not the value, it’s the limited memory size and

  10. Amazing_Carpenter963

I have a 4060 and its really not bad for what you get, the Vram is the only thing bad about it

The thing is a large majority of people are playing at 1080p 60Hz so why would they need more than a 4060 ?

I’m not saying they should buy one, I had a 1660 super and it was great, actually still is great as I’m using it on a second PC for racing games. But this is the kind of performance range people are looking for.

I wanted an upgrade though to be “future proof” for 2560x1080p (ultrawide) despite still running at 75Hz, so at the time price got quite low and I snatched a 6700XT. I’m pretty sure I’m not using it to its full potential, and right now it feels bottlenecked by my 2700X (on single core heavy games) and its stock cooler so I’m getting a 5800X to compensate.

You guys still buy new video cards? I haven’t since the 1080ti and Vega 64 in 2017

  13. Haylz2709

I love living in the UK and seeing all the Americans/Europeans pay ridiculous price for the entry cards. A 4070 super for £500? Easy here lol

  14. Sim_Daydreamer

What’s the problem with this card?

  15. Xalex_79

You can think of a 4060 as a 2080 super consuming half the power

  16. hedmed97

Bought my 4090 half a year ago. Right now i‘m playing dishonored 2 and a lot of Dayz. It seem like a 4060 would have done it for me lol.

  17. kind-Mapel

If the 4060 was $100 dollars US cheaper or even $50, this PCMR should like it. But it is not a good deal when the 3060 competes with your 4060, yet you paid $100 or even $150 more for it. This is why this sub dislikes it and advises against it.

  18. RumbleversePlayer

    Rocking i3 12100f & 1660 super since 2022

  19. Reggitor360

If the cards were sold for 150-180 bucks at most, no one would bat an eye.

For current prices? 4060/Ti are just a scam for Nvidia with close to 95% profit margins.

  20. hypocriticalblamer

I bought a clean 2nd hand 3080 TI around same what I would pay for 4060 earlier this year. This is not possible for everyone ofc but it says something about market.

  21. SparkGamer28

the graphics isn’t bad the price is and the prices are way different outside of US lol

  22. Here in Brazil the XX60 always are the smartest choice for us (and I guess for a lot of countries as well), because:

    4090: R$ 11.500,00
    4080: R$ 8.000,00
    4070: R$ 4.000,00
    4060: R$ 2.000,00
    > Minimum wage: R$1.400,00

Ofc, I’m disregarding sales; and not considering the other series like 30XX. Just to put in perspective how those high-end graphic cards are far from our reallity.
