Continuing my series of reviewing BO4 zombies maps. I’ll give a rundown of why I’m doing it first, granted it’s already explained in the other posts. Basically, when BO4 came out I had preordered it and was ultimately pissed upon release because it’s zombies was disappointing and I hated the new perk system, amongst other things. Coming back years later, I figure I’ll give it a shot.

So back to the topic of this post. I just played Classified again on casual mode in BO4 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The expansions to the map were done well and I like the added rooms. The parts for Pack-a-Punch are relatively easy to find and the defcon buttons are in their usual place. I didn’t do the Easter egg so I can’t really give a review on that, but after all, I’m not usually one to do the Easter eggs…

Anyways, I always found Five on BO1 to be terrifying, and this map still keeps that vibe. The layout is still pretty much the same, and the new rooms make sense. The aesthetic is also not bad, a little more blood than in the original map but it still keeps a lot of its charm. Overall, I really enjoyed it and personally like it more than the original, except for a few parts.

The only parts of classified that I wish they carried over from the original are the original crew (JFK, Castro, etc..), and the pentagon thief. Am I particularly bothered by Pack-a-Punch now being in its location from Moon? Not really. It’s honestly kind of cool. Do I still prefer the original location of it? Yes. The lack of the pentagon thief and original BO1 crew make this map lose a little bit of the charm from the original, but layout wise, I think this map is phenomenal. Definitely a solid B-tier map for me. Not far from being A-tier.

Do I still dislike the perk system and loadouts in BO4? Absolutely. I don’t mean to retroactively praise a game that has its fair share of problems, but I do think BO4 has proved to have some very solid maps and I do wish I gave it a fair shot back when it came out.

The original crew and the pentagon thief being gone ruined it for me. Everything else is cool but those two main things being gone make you forget your playing five sometimes
