What you purchased is perfect!
The 4090 may be top-tier, but it’s not really made with gaming in mind. This beast is designed for graphic designers, 3D artists, and the people actually building those games. Think Pixar-level rendering, not just running the latest AAA title. That’s why it packs all that VRAM, it’s meant for complex scenes and high-end creative work.
For gaming, current VRAM needs cap at around 16 GB, so a 4090 won’t magically make your games run better. What it does do is let you push insane resolutions, like on a 4K screen, which is more relevant if you’re sitting across the room, like a designer in a studio presentation.
Less than 1% of Steam users have a 4090, and most of them are either game developers or artists who also happen to game.
