I like that Ubisoft is “dying”. Meanwhile Steam …

We never owned our games, it’s not a new thing.

Ubisoft isn’t going anywhere because idiots are going to give them all their money even if the Ubisoft CEO showed up to their homes, murdered their families, and then burnt their houses to the ground lol. You can’t convince people NOT to give evil ass corporations all their money these days no matter what.

That being said, of the platforms with DRM, Steam is in another fucking galaxy compared to the other pile of shit options who are in a race for the bottom. Valve is the only company at that level that is doing anything customer focused at all. And despite what a lot of Steam hating Redditors will try and have you believe, they are doing far more than the bare minimum. I mean, the supposed best competition for Steam, that was going to be the “Steam killer” launched without a fucking shopping cart. 🤡🤡🤡

Maybe Ubisoft should get used to gamers now owning their games instead.

If purchasing isn’t owning, then piracy isn’t stealing.

There’s not liking Ubisoft for valid reasons, and there’s taking a sentence out of context to hate Ubisoft on a fact that applies to basically 99.9% of games anyone on this sub tyinks they own for some reason.

You do not own your games, any of them. You never had. It has been like this for a while, on every platform, on every storefront.

You own exactly 0 games that you bought on steam, regardless of the company.

The amount of bullshit jargon I had to ‘read(scroll and not read)’ before playing a fucking singleplayer campaign for Space Marine 2… I’m finding it hard to argue, sadly.

You do realize you don’t own Steam games right? They’re just licensed to you.

  8. xXHeerosamaXx

then they need to change the term “Buy” to “Rent”.

  9. MiniDemonic

You don’t own your steam games either.

  10. KrazyKryminal

I don’t “own” any Ubisoft games, yet I have many in my backup drives…

You hate Ubisoft because they only sell you licenses vs you love Steam because they only sell you licenses

    Make it make sense

  12. My only problem with Steam is that they cut support for older hardware and OS’s effectively forbidding me from playing games I have licenses for on hardware that I actually own, makes me wonder how they will treat their hardware down the road.

Mfs will defend ubisoft even though they say shit like this to your face

I know other services function the same way but it’s hard to think of another company that spits on you so much, we have the whole stop killing games campaign that started because of a ubisoft game lol

IDK how investors can let this fly the stock is in the toilet.

  15. CarlWellsGrave

Your unhinged hate for Ubisoft blinds you to the fact steam is the same way.

  16. GuitardedBard

Meanwhile I’m having a good time with the game licenses I purchased because this is how it has been for over a decade now.

Sooooo many experts here , soooo many “let me tell you about that” people in here. If you’re all so smart and wise, why the hell do you spend your time on reddit and not lecturing people somewhere with millions of followers etc. Anyways it was nice reading these ground breaking theories hahaha

P.s. you dont own anything in life 😉 everything can be taken away from you in a blink of an eye

  18. SpecialMango3384

I guess Ubisoft doesn’t mind me pirating. Since I can’t own them anymore, it ain’t really stealing
