That graph perfectly aligns with the decline in quality.

Did the game get that much worse or the hype from drive to survive go down over time?

It is interesting this chart starts around when they netflix show blew up lol.

Is anyone surprised?. We have been waiting for a engine change since, at least, 22. They have push that awful and esperpentic mode of “F1 World” with an completely unnecessary “pitpass”, including Common/rare/legendary/epic RGP type upgrades that have no room in a racing game. Instead of giving us older cars for past seasons (2012/2005/1998…) they just added road cars… Minimal improvments in carrer mode, 22 and 24 terrible drive physics… and the list goes on

    Fuck EA

    “EA Games! Destroying everything.”

  5. I’m a bit surprised that it didn’t happen earlier.
It has been a running joke for many years that every Fifa game was the same.

EA’s push for more products over good products are starting to backfire? Who knew that would happen?!

They had to follow the soccer/football, NBA, Hockey game logic. But failed to realize, unlike those games, here the driver roster is very limited, teams are often the same year to year. And the game engine rarely gets overhauled. Keeps selling the same thing over and over with some fresh coat of paint.

Imagine if the releases were timed with eras IRL.

    * Hybrid Engine Era, 2014-2021 was one game, with each year being a DLC for car changes, slight rule updates and such.
    * New ground floor Aero Era 2022-2025 another game, with overhaul of graphics and physics.

Given the continuous growth of F1 the last 5 years, this is actually kinda wild.

Just add career mode where each season uses the relevant car icodemasters have been doing this since 200o so use 2009 to 2024 cars

I think they’ve killed codies entirely at this point, probably stealing all the devs to work on other projects. WRC team is kinda small now I hear, F1 has minimal changes each year to warrant the exorbitant price… hence no sales. It practically doubled in price when EA took over.

lol, we’re not as dumb as FIFA players. I’m still playing through 2020 career… that I had to pirate btw, because EA pulled it from all stores.

Isnt every sport games thats exactly the same every year like that ?

  13. baddazoner

way always going to happen. It’s not like madden and FIFA which are basically the same every year besides the real life changes however they are far more popular sports more casual to play and not as repetitive as racing.

besides possibly changing the graphics engine or adding some classic cars or a new mode what the fuck can they actually do? the teams in real life change drivers every other year. All that would be in game is Hamilton now driving for Ferrari instead of Mercedes.

it’s either they just make the next one a DLC or take a break every year or two

  14. Why EA’s profit is growing year-over-year then.

  15. Ninety percent drop in 4 years. That should be a catastrophe.

Who would have tell that pushing predatory micro-transactions, BP-mechanics and loot boxes would kill a franchise. FIFA, F1, NFS, BF… EA is peak when it comes to fuck up franchises.

  17. I’ll just play 2020 til they actually make some huge changes.

  18. IRMacGuyver

It’s almost like releasing a game every year is bad. Especially when the drivers, tracks, and cars can just be DLC.
