How do you like them mid-gen upgrades, peasants?

    The sad thing is they won’t even get better performance in a lot of games, since the PS5 is so CPU limited.

    I like how “generation” has become the latest buzzword meaning absolutely nothing.

    Won’t anybody think of the shareholders? Sony needs your support right now! Do it for them, if not for anyone else.

    I sort of have a personal rule about GPU upgrades I’m considering, where they can’t cost more than the entirety of a console.. so I guess that value shot up to $700 for me now, nice.

    Waiting on the,

    I am a PC gamer too BUT! Guy.

    Ps5 pro is honestly just a great AD for PC components

    You don’t have to buy a refresh… Most don’t

    You don’t have to buy a ps5 pro. No one is forcing you to.

    $700? We’re paying €800, assuming it will launch at MSRP.

    I silently pray and hope no one buys one, until the price drops to a reasonable level.

    You really don’t even need those refreshes just to play games

    It’s not even about hardware upgrades, anecdotal but I don’t really see consoles users talk about that. I have a PC and all major consoles. My main gripe with PCs is if you have an issue with a game not working, there are a plethora of ‘solutions’ and most of them do not work. You have to search different online forums looking for some random fix that may or may not work. If you reach out to customer service (whether it be Steam, or the game devs themselves) even they don’t really know what to tell you besides the basic solutions you’ve probably already tried. When I play a game on a console, it just WORKS, with no issue. If there is an issue, generally speaking it’s console-wide, and will be fixed.

    It’s not like the developers have secret high-res textures and settings hidden in their games that already released. They would need to be retroactively patched.

    That’s the list that will undergo the modifications required to take advantage of it, apparently:

    * Alan Wake 2
    * Assassin’s Creed: Shadows
    * Demon’s Souls
    * Dragon’s Dogma 2
    * Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
    * Gran Turismo 7
    * Hogwarts Legacy
    * Horizon Forbidden West
    * Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
    * Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
    * The Crew Motorfest
    * The First Descendant
    * The Last of Us: Part II Remastered

    Was this sub always so stupid, or have I just started noticing it more?

    I thought the PS5 is highly modern and extremly strong. I’m feeling old. How old is it? 5 years?

  15. Hen-stepper

    The crazy thing: PS5 gamers are most pissed off about the lack of blu ray drive. They have been kept in this sheltered, gaslit world that Sony made them believe is reality.

    Like hello? They are getting a CPU from 2019, before Covid.

  16. EngineerResponsible6

    Mean while 700 usd but it’s 959.99 in Canada……

  17. Lanky_midget

    ‘You have to upgrade for your PC every couple of years’

  18. Philip_Raven

    500 for PS5 and now 700 for aother one..tell me how console gaming is cheaper than PC.

  19. Here2Fuq

    Wouldn’t the PC equivalent of this be buying a new GPU each gen lol
