I remember renting this console (Yes you could rent consoles back in the day) before it’s release. The catch was it was in japanese. Still felt like coolest kid on the block having this thing before it actually was released.

Such a badass console that was ahead of its time for albeit for a short time. Soul Caliber, NFL2K, Powerstone…I worked at Gamestop at the time while in High School, I remember using my lunch break on Thursday to run over to the store and pick it up, that afternoon was super tough to focus knowing it was sitting in my trunk.

Skies of Arcadia is still in my list of greatest rpgs of all time.

Neat. I remember back in those days you could spend a couple days filling out surveys and have enough points to buy an Imported Asian Dreamcast (just prior to the US launch of the DC). So much free stuff back then.
