So, what I’m hearing is that all those former IPs are now free to use?

The monetized hate machine is really clutching at straws with this Sony hatred. I mean, they are making lots of money from the idiots that believe it, so there’s that. This shit is the equivalent to “slow news day” stories.

Misleading article, badly written too. This is about Sony as a whole, not just games.

Bring back Resistance you cowards!!! Enough with this marvel shit (yeah, yeah they’re good games I know, but think of what we *could* have)

  5. They had a ton that they willingly abandoned in favor of who knows what any more. But I guess deep down they know that real money is only made by targetting kids who will steal their mom’s credit card. It’s a hard sell to make the fanbases of their old IPs to fork over cash for DLC and microtransactions.

An Infamous MMORPG would sell very well. Same goes for a Ghost of Tsushima..

Parappa the Rappa, Twisted Metal, Spyro, Jak And Daxter, Resistance, Sly Cooper, Infamous, and Little Big Planet: Are we a joke to you?

(And this is just counting all the series that didn’t get a new game in a long while.)

Edit: Spyro is also under activision, my bad.

So. Sly Cooper live service game. Micro DLC for each heist and you can spend extra to buy more gear for each mission. And as a bonus selling point, ‘Using our new mode our exclusive shit LLM will generate new adventures for you on the fly and voice act them too so the game will never end!*

*This service will cost an additional $7.99 a month.’

Do you truly wish to experience these horrors that will come from modernizing some of these?

  9. They have “The Last of Us”, which single handedly gave them a gigantic lead over their only real competidor.
They might not have much IPs nowadays but to be honest, I don’t think they even need it.

So many franchises and IP that Sony owns that they could you know, actually use? But they don’t for reasons unknown.

Not even just their own IP as well they have other companies they could easily give a firm kick in the butt to produce some games with forgotten well loved IP that were mainly on PlayStation.

Like Sony could ressurect medievil, give it a proper modern game with that classic platforming combat feel and I’m sure they will profit off it decently, but best they can do is a remaster of the original.

Didn’t they sell a ton of their original IPs to other companies last year to fund their bullshit NFT projects that never actually went anywhere?

I’d buy a new parappa the rapper game day one. Ps5 graphics, dual shock compatibility for rhythm. Chefs kiss emoji

Infamous 2, one of the greatest PlayStation games of all time, never even got an official ps4 or ps5 release. You have to pull out a ps3 to play to it
