There will probably be some 890M ones before Christmas. Some companies may be waiting for Strix Halo before a major new version, though.

  2. I mean, what’s the alternative? Going Intel and getting laughed at like MSI?

What’s the problem? It’s a very capable little iGPU.

Unless they slap a big ass battery the life in handheld is small. Which is a big factor

  5. Well, give it another year or so and we’ll probably see 2x the graphics performance in those handhelds. We’re entering a handheld era because of how good APU’s are getting, so if it’s not up to your standards yet, just wait a little longer and it’ll be there.

I literally got Legion Go today so I feel called out. Although I mainly plan to use it to stream games from my desktop. Just wanted something with big screen.

Also considered getting something like Logitech G cloud but I like the option to play some indie games when I am visiting my parents.

Basically the best APU we have that works great in this small form factor, I dont really see a problem with this. Do you want something from Intel, with worse iGPU performance?

At least AMD are making CPUs like every month but not integrated so it can’t be on handhelds

I don’t even want a handheld. I want a tablet with a similarly sized screen. Apparently if you want a tablet that’s sub 10 inches you want a super ultra low end device and if you want a high end tablet there’s no way could want something under 10 inches. You definitely want a 14 inch device if you want high end right? Ugh.

Just let me know when I can pick up an older SteamDeck, MSI wtf it’s called, etc for $100 and I can use it as a retrostation.
