It seems to be a love or hate relationship with zombies players. Going back and replaying the maps over the past week, the good and bad memories returned. It’s classic mindless fun, but the voice acting was consistently cringe. The focus on melee weapons and animations were great tho, especially the Rave weapons in the cabin, and the kung fu weapons in the 70s nyc map. One thing I could have done without was the final map, just seemed like a cop out to me. Still a generally good time. What do / did you think of IWZ?

Zombies in Spaceland is easily a top 5 zombies map of all time.
Zombies in Spaceland is in my top 10 of all time. I like Rave in the Redwoods a lot too. I don’t enjoy the other 3.
I like how lighthearted the tone is and that it doesn’t take itself seriously. It’s refreshing from the more serious BO3, BO4, and later and the depressing torture porn that is WW2.
Best starting map of all time ngl .
Probably a top 3 zombies game, definitely top 5
Currently playing it and it’s absolutely fantastic
some things I enjoyed:
– Spaceland in general
– when you start a game of Rave, you start with no weapon at all, just your fists and the melee weapons lying around
– the celebrity characters, especially Elvira and Silent Bob
– the pack a punch room evolving over the maps, as well as using the alien core to double pap which is cool
some things i disliked:
– the entirety of Beast from Beyond.
seriously, the hardest part of the map is the first 5 to 10 minutes. then round 1 actually starts. i get it, but just why
– most of Shaolin Shuffle, minus the melee weapons
– especially those god awful kung fu zombies that teleport to you
– Willard Wyler as a character
– the easter egg in Attack of the Radioactive Thing. imo the most diabolical list of demands a group of game developers could possibly ask of call of duty players
This game is pure perfection in my eyes, except bfb, that map is a little iffy but still okay
Also super ee had an actual amazing reward instead of a free RK5 like bo3
I think it is great and the team who worked on it are on Treyarchs level and should have been given the opportunity to continue making zombies for IW projects.
The distinct tone and gameplay of each map leads to alot of people having a very distinct favourite most being Spaceland. Final boss and Directors Cut reward are some of the coolest things added to COD Zombies in general.
Ok so I love it specially because I think that game and the WW2 zombies took completely different notes from classic zombies and both are completely valid.
Spaceland is super fun and exciting and funny and this nostalgia filled experience while WW2 is body horror and gore and grime and weird horrific pseudo science and if you combined those two takes you would get the complete classic experience fun and crazy and horrific and a bit of nostalgia.
it’s really cool that these two teams looked at the original and were inspired to make something completely different.
I truly love IW. Spaceland, rave, shaolin and especially attack. (Not beast tho)
I was probably in the minority of people who were hyped to get a new zombies map trailer during the life cycle of the game. I loved this mode so much.
IMO, it’s just shy of being the best zombies game. But it’s most definitely 2nd best
a great mao but it does get boring at times but i always find myself playing it again
Much better than the shit we about to get!
Loved it. Wish it wasn’t such a bitch to play
Man I remember when infinite warfare came out and everyone hated it saying it sucked and it wasn’t “true zombies” and you were a plebian if you liked iw zombies. I remember every youtuber and twitch streamer day after day no matter what was added or updated it was just game bad fuck you. Now everyone clamoring about how they actually loved it and it was there favorite call of duty zombies mode. It seems to me people didn’t realize how good it was until we got other games.
Really good game, I wish I had friends that bought it tho, was a bit shit playing it solo all the time (people in public matches aren’t real lol)
I found it disappointing at launch when I was playing solo and not caring enough to get into the Easter eggs, but going back now with a buddy and actually completing the main/side quests in pursuit of Directors Cut has risen it rapidly to a top 3 zombies experience for me personally. Zombies in Spaceland and Shaolin Shuffle are top 10 maps at worst.
The movie theming of the maps is fantastic for diversity and everything has its own unique flair. I’m catching myself brainstorming map ideas each time I hop in and would kill for Lee Ross to return and get his sequel.
I’d say it’s better than BO4 and cold war zombies. It’s pretty good and I appreciate it.
Its almost 10 years old so its good now
