2080 Ti FE was running a little loud and hot so figured I’d try a repaste. I’ve never seen voids this bad form over time. Temps down 15c in game with no more random fan spikes to 100%.

With a direct die application, and the die size this big, go with proper high viscosity thermal paste. Also if you haven’t get some good thermal putty.

I am saying this because of longevity. Both paste and putty, if standard aftermarket make, will not last long.

yeah you need a cooler installed so it doesnt run hot.

Completely unnecessary such ammount of pads… only vram is enough. Too many pads can cause the die not being in full contact with the heat sink

Yup i was wondering why my RX 6600 idle temps where at 50-55C, after opening it, the thermal paste was bone dry, after re pasting it, it idles at 45-48C.

When it comes to gpus if you use paste it need to be very viscous. I only use thernalright tfx! It’s so thick you gotta heat it to apply but won’t pump out. In case it gets warm again I figured this info will help.
