Not adding Call of Duty®, Black Ops 4 due to it not being on steam, the rest of the modern warfare series, orginal call of duty's and ghost. Added Vanguard because why not? Haha.
Also this is only PC numbers (estimates) and not console such as Xbox or Playstation. I'm sure though the numbers would be similar for BO3. Adding all the call of duty games, BO3 still has more numbers besides Call of Duty® as that adds MWll, MWlll and Warzone (100k +).
Black Ops 3 is a 9 year old game and still has a decent active player base mostly because of zombies. It added some elements both classic cod players enjoyed and newer. Though it's long lasting success is due to zombies (adding zombie chronicles) and the mod support for the community to create.
If BO6 or 7 wants this kind of love and success it needs to take stuff from BO3 and even go back to BO1/BO2 to see why zombies was so loved and successful. BO1 was one of the most successful video games ever so it's okay to look at the past while adding a new direction. All it needs is some creativity and a little familiarity.
They have time to make adjustments until the October release. We will judge fully once it's released.

Vanguard peaked lower than Concord lmao.
It’s not really a good comparison, considering that newer titles split between BattleNet and Steam (and most will be on battlenet to preserve codPoints), and that Cold War was added to Steam after a year of its release. This is not how you prove a point.
My god… those vanguard numbers were rough 😅
slop eaters gonna swoop in soon. take cover brother.
I think that it is due to Custom Zombies tho. Not that I am using this to counter your point, rather it emphasises the argument. A godd portion of the community would like to play new things with the BO3 formula, I am saying this to counter the argument of “Just go play BO3, it is still there”.
Most of the BO3 things that I want at least is not BO3’s guneplay or movement system, but instead, I want the simpler times of BO3, no loadout, no scorestreaks, no rarity, I want the OG map and setup progression with the cold war gun play and a new storyline.
TL;DR: I just feel like the new zombies is bloated with unnecessary systems that takes away from the core game rather than building on top of it.
I agree it’s the best zombies experience, so it gets points for that, but it also has custom maps, which definitely increases the population by a lot
I promise you it is 100% because of the mod support
You are telling my that the only cod with steamworkshop is the most played game in steam, that wild
They literally did take notes, bringing back gobble gums, a set crew on the main map, bringing back classic wonder weapons, the only things that don’t fall in line with your magical black ops 3, was the fact it still uses the mechanics from Cold War (a game that community likes) and Liberty Falls isn’t your normal zombies map so you’re all scared.
The don’t want you to be content with a CoD title no more, so you’re stuck in the cycle of buying the new garbage one every year in hopes, it will be better this time xD If something as good as BO3 (with modding support) would get released again, these addict people would just ignore the next years CoD.
Zombies is most played cuz of modding tools, multiplayer has rats. 3arc, can’t take notes cause of activision breathing down their necks
Don’t you want to compare bo2 zombies not just bo2 straight up in steam?
yeah cause modders sell games, this is proof
Nearly a 10k players peak is actually quite impressive for a game so old
bruh
bo2 is split into 3 apps tho
what u have now is campaign.
Seek bo2 – zombies
Ah, I see everyone in this comment section forgot Cold War only existed in Battlenet for literally 2 and a half years, only coming to steam in spring 2023
Of course steam numbers are lower, way less people have bought the game in that platform my guy
Because of custom zombies, something I never figured out how they allowed it and something I’ll never see return
i was doing revelations ee last night. bo3 is so beautiful mapwise, hud wise, design wise, everything. so much effort was put into it
