Whichever executive idiot who pushed for it to be a live service game in the first place is who should be fired.

Expected when gamers wanted something similar to Arkham City and got this hot steaming turd instead.

Shocker.

Oh no! If only *someone* had seen this coming and warned WB.
Oh that’s right, *everyone* did.

>There has also been an acknowledgement by Rocksteady’s senior management that product quality will now suffer as a result, staff say.
Wasn’t great to begin with.

on the one hand after such a huge failure so it’s inevitable some people will be laid off, but sadly none of the people who greenlit this game that anybody with a brain will know no one will want play is losing his job, and most likely get more money than i will see in my entire life

Underperformed is an understatement.

Once again, carloads of creative talent must suffer the consequences of terrible executive leadership and decision-making.
Vo_Mimbre
That sucks but I really hope those affected knew this was coming. They’re probably gamers too, probably on Reddit too, and hopefully didn’t gaslight themselves or be convinced by whatever charlatan said this would go well.
Leotargaryen
Lucky they didn’t all get canned. One game in almost a decade and it’s pretty much a historical bomb.

Say it ain’t So!

I was watching Shroud play this game when it launched and he was talking about how the developers invited him for a tour and test, and he took the offer.
He was saying the game was pretty good, but from what I was seeing, he was full of shit. It looked pretty average. But I know big fans of him had to tell themselves to take his word and trust him, because he said it was good and he wasn’t paid to say it. Tastes are different, sure, but man… it didn’t sound legit.

Fire the executives who turned an Arkham game into a live service nobody wanted.
wellmaybe_
dont they fire game devs even if the game performs well nowadays? the game industry is fucking stupid
kartoonist435
Wow underperforms is doing a lot of work here.
Significant-Battle79
I mean, it’s not like the layoffs wouldn’t have happened even if the game was a smash success, the shareholders just have an excuse now.
LapsedVerneGagKnee
Happy Labor Day! Suffer for C-Suite’s insistence at playing Live Service Lotto while the executives take home bonuses!

Now?
Haven’t it underperformed since release. Didn’t they scale back new content months ago?
And they’re only laying off now?
What have those people been doing until now?

Hell, this is the first time I’m even hearing about it

No one could have foreseen this happening. Literally no one.
