This post was made in relation to the rocky road the borderlands series has been on lately, but I felt it was also accurate of the zombies mode. This series has over a decade of "trying new formulas" and "evolving the mode," but we have never had a moment where our satisfaction lasted. We always had to move onto the "next COD" instead of getting one that actively works with the community to make a better game over time. We've seen amazing graphics in BO3, customizable characters in WW2, a more goofy and creative take on zombies with IW, some of the best maps and visual aesthetics from WaW-BO4, and an evolution of features like pausing in coop. We've now had games where pausing in solo wasn't even possible, and now this is a zombies mode that is online only…
I'm not here to 100% hate on a game that hasn't come out yet, especially since Terminus looks WAY better than Liberty Falls, but there is an undeniable fact that the mode has been cutting corners that shouldn't be cut so it can keep up with "evolving" over the years.

Sadly, ignoring us does work long-term at this scale. The only real competition is Battlefield (which gets less relevant with each entry) and specific to our game mode, Sker Ritual (you’ll forgive them if they don’t quake in fear). Other FPS games like Titanfall can come and shake things up, but they’re always temporary. AAA game series are an unapproachable behemoth.
To take it down a peg, there would need to be a mass boycott, meaning they’d have to create something that was TRULY awful and viewed as such by the majority of the playerbase. The odds of this are very low, as standards for the quality of the Multiplayer are also very low.
The series won’t naturally lose steam until they consistently suck for a very long period of time. Vanguard and MW3 were certainly an extended stumble, but even they have fans, and BO6 looks like it’ll be even footing again. We’d need a Sonic 06, Secret Rings, Black Knight, Unleashed kind of stumble to break a leg here.
Joltz! I love his content, he has a strong love for Borderlands and is vocal about what Borderlands 4 needs to have to he a good game. It does seem that Gearbox is listening to the community and learning from their mistakes. I wish more companies were like this.
My thoughts on buying bo6: “the skip dude!”
The player base does not agree with itself as to what it wants becuase most players vary in the time and effort they have for video games, what this guy is actually saying is make it how i want it becasue he thinks he and the few that think like him are the player base.
This is the same as every game that has a group of players who consider themsleves “OGs”, they whine that they should be the target audiance when in fact the game and audiance has grown far and wide beyond the “OGs” and they are no longer the majority of players but despite this they think their word is law.
From what i have seen there are two maps planned for realease one i personally consider more for the players who call themselves “OGs” and one for the players who take things a little less seriously and just want to blow shit up and shoot zombies with there firends for an hour in the evening and to be honest this is a fantastic move and IMO covers all players.
Remeber these games sell 20-30 million copies a year and there are 500k of you in hear thats not even close to any sort of majority and some would do well to remembe that.
